so I'm starting a new ultra light build. This time on a long action. So I'm using ti action and bolt. Have the stock. And all the screws and things in ti.
My question is what is the lightest bottom metal for a 700 long action clone. On my short action I found the magpull was it being all plastic but looking for advice on the long action this time.
Thanks in advance

You know I was actually thinking that already just not sure it was the list of most to give up the repeating option.
That being said I rarely take more than one shot at game animal
I'm not sure if that's what snox ment I thought he ment blind mag. No floor plate no mag weight savings like you want. All my light weight rigs were blind mag just to save weight.
I'm not sure what your end goal is but I'm reality once you get so light what's a couple OZ
Really 4.75 lbs or 4.85 lbs not enough at that weight to make any real world diff.

I'm up for any options that will cut weight to the lightest possible but would like to keep it a repeater.
The reason I like to save weight anywhere possible is that way I can add weight where I want it. In the stock and scope and still be on the extremely light side.
What would be my best options for blind mag. Or dbm. Just starting to get all the details worked out so very early in the project
Thanks guys I do appreciate the help. You guys are a wealth of knowledge.

Brown Precision used to have component weights on their web site, but a quick web search came up with this:

The following weights of full actions (bolt, guard screws, trigger guard magazine liner, trigger assembly, recoil lugs, follower and spring) - everything except the barrel, stock, scope and mounts. Remington 700 short ADL ............. 2 lbs. 3.5 oz Remington 700 short BDL ............. 2 lbs. 4 oz Remington 700 long ADL .............. 2 lbs. 6.5 oz Remington 700 long BDL .............. 2 lbs. 7 oz Remington 600 ....................... 1 lbs. 15 oz Remington 788 long (.243, .308) ..... 2 lbs. 11 oz Remington 7.......................... 2 lbs. 2 oz Mauser Mark X ....................... 2 lbs. 15 oz Sako medium (current production) .... 2 lbs. 5 oz Sako long ........................... 2 lbs. 13 oz Ruger short dovetail receiver ....... 2 lbs. 6 oz Ruger long dovetail receiver ........ 2 lbs. 8.5 oz Weatherby Model 70 post-64 .......... 2 lbs. 13 oz Weatherby Mark V .................... 3 lbs. 3 oz.

So you'll save about .5oz going ADL, but what does the material to fill the stock for the floor plate weigh?

A little more background may help a bit.
So a few years back I had pierce do one like I wanted with the ti action bolt and they even made a ti fitting g pin for me. Had it chambered in the 6.5 creed with a proof barrel 22" and manners eh5. I liked the idea of making it as light as possible so I could add the weight in the stock and scope that I wanted. Still a crazy light rig. I also used Hastings micro pad for more weight off and magpul trigger guard and I guess you would call it bottom metal but it's plastic. This thing is already a challenge to shoot long range at such a light weight. When I say challenge I wouldn't want any less but being as light as I can I can add all the little stuff like camera, levels, bipod, can and whatever else and still be better than most. So this one will be a bit heavier in weight but that fine just want to keep it as low as possible.
I want to make a clone in looks to my 6.5 creed so they match.
Some might ask why?
Well because I'm sick of destroying all the meat from game unless they are a mile out. And to be frank it to easy. Sometimes I just stick it out the window and pull the trigger. It's that accurate. So I decided to challenge myself and do the Sherman improved 300 prc.

Your 6.5cm is destroying all the meat?

Look at paradigm carbons new barrels, they use rock creek liners. They have a lightweight contour with 0.700" muzzle. A 27" 30 cal blank weighs in at 38oz. Pair that with a Pierce ti long action, a wildcat composites adl stock, and you'll be around 5# maybe less.
