Has anybody ever used this outfitter for Elk? I am really considering them. I have never used an Outfitter or paid for a Guided hunt but would really like to harvest a decent Bull. Thanks

My friend and I have hunted with them twice (2016 & 2019) and am booked again for 2022. We both killed bulls each time and had great experiences. Everyone in camp both times either killed bulls, missed, or passed on opportunity. Give BJ a call.

I've hunted with them 3 times 2013, 2015 and 2016. Killed 2 exceptional bulls, one is a 7X7 score 346 and the other was 6X6 score 315. If to book another elk hunt for me it would only be SCO. BJ and crew work their a@$ off for you to kill a bull. It's not a cake walk so do your self a favor and get in shape, you'll ride horses from daylight to dark hunting for elk. Also shoot a big gun .300 WM or .338WM they perfer large caliber rifles.
Look at his photos from 2015 & 2016 I'm the guy in the black cowboy hat on top right side of page.
Good Luck

A group of us are also looking at this outfitter and welcome all the insights folks may have had. So far research has been very positive. I've done a lot of digging on the web and not finding too many negative comments, always be a few I suppose. As Sampson said, would love to hear more details from those who have hunted with them.

We hunted with swift creek for third time this year nice bulls all three times , my daughter in 2011 , 7x7 , 334 , my son 2013 nice 5x5 , my son again this year 7x7 351, he is in this years wy outdoors sco advertisement, great crew , like said above come prepared, I would not make this my first elk hunt, this should be a hunt you are ready for, it will be more fun if you are not a beginner with elk or western hunting, just my two cents worth, of the four who hunted this year , the 3 with some experience got nice bulls , the fourth with no experience wounded and was done, I have elk hunted with many outfitters, this is the best free range elk hunt out there.

How dare they, as outfitters....suggest that hunters bring more than a barely adequate cartridge to hunt elk! ;) I thought that the vast majority of outfitters suggested "anything but a magnum"! :D memtb

I get the toung in cheek answer. Go big and get good with it because if you wound an elk and they can't find it your hunt is over. BJ explains this the night before the hunt begins. Both my bulls were killed < 100 yards in the timber that's not saying longer shots don't exist, be prepared before you go. These guys are Elk specialist and know what they are doing.

Thank you. SCO is the only elk outfit I'll hunt with do to the way they hunt, the full back country experience and everything wrapped around it. I'd go every year but my money tree isn't that big. Book the hunt and go it will be lifetime memories and a full freezer.

Thanks, Would love to get a good bull, before I die. Until we've got freezer meat....I'm regulated to shooting "first come first served"! I've passed on and had my wife pass on, too many small bulls the last 3 years.....only to "eat" tags. She's not a "happy hunter (wife)....so meat first! She grew up where hunting put food on the table, she absolutely hates watching "freezer meat" walk away! ;) If we can put two cows in the freezer this year.....maybe hunt bulls again next year! memtb
