Had to take a break from work

Dave, it is a Nightforce 3.5-15x50 npr1 reticle taken with an iPhone 7. She was shot with a Schmidt & Bender pmII 4-16x50 with a p4f reticle.
WildRose, I live in Rhineland and my folks still live on the farm between Throckmorton and Weinert, about 10 miles west of the old Swenson ranch hq(Clark's now). Been here my whole life.
I'll be... . We've almost certainly bumped into each other then at some point.

I used to do hog control on the Swenson there by Throckmorton but mostly on the division near Hamlin. It's truly paradise for a hog Hunter. The fattest hogs I've ever seen were up by Rule. Those peanut fields make for some fat pork.

Awesome!
I absolutely love west Texas and the panhandle.
So different from our
Dang pine trees here in the NE corner. But I'm sure we equal y'all on the darn hogs!
And don't feel bad
I'd of missed too.
Lol

Yes, it was dry earlier and the wheat got a slow start. Hard to grow much with 100 head of hogs and 30+ deer on it every day. My son still needs to kill a buck and then all 3 boys have to get a doe. There are some needy folks we can give the meat to.

John, I know the Flat Top 8 country too. You know Voss?

I used to hunt about half way between Guthrie and Paducah, little area called Chalk.
Close to 6666 and JJ GIBSON ranches.
Was my uncles place.
Unfortunately he passed away a few years ago,
His grandkids aren't near as inviting to their east Texas cousins.
Lol
Man I miss going out there.
You can call a coyote from a mile away and watch it run in.

Yep, know that country too. My close friend is buds with Mike Gibson. Another friend leases the old Buckle L ranch. I don't day work much any more so I haven't been that way lately.

Was Voss the manager? The name rings a bell, but I never saw anyone out there unless it was roundup. I proposed to my wife on that big mesa overlooking that 6 section wheat field between Hamlin and Stamford on a hog hunt. Nick Shaginaw was my hunt partner at the time. There used to be a small herd of about 10 mule deer that lived up there.

Peanuts also make for the tastiest pork! too bad most of the industry has folded up since the end of the peanut subsidy.

John K., yes Voss was GM and still is. It's pretty wild country back in there.
Yes Sir. I loved hunting that country. Voss was a good guy. We had a big range fire on(the ground needed it) the Swenson around 2010 or 11. Had a lot of those then. I went and woke him up so we ran the cattle out and let it burn all that cactus off. If you know where the old boy scout camp was it's that pasture. They closed that scout camp years ago because they built it practically on top of a big rattler den they didn't know about. I miss that area. Up in the snow country now freezing my tail off.
