It's the factory bolt body. I sent it to Dan at DarkEagle Custom in NY for fluting and paint. I think it turned out great.

Not a 110 but very close. Bought a Savage 111FV from Cabelas last weekend. Black synthetic/pillar bedded stock, black metal finish, Accutrigger, 26" heavy barrel. Added a Blackhawk extended rail. 6.5 Creedmoor.
Good trigger but the bolt didn't want to cycle worth a crap. Some valve grinding compound and a few minutes work fixed that, at the expense of the bolt jeweling and the logo on the bolt.
Pretty sure it will shoot like the other Savage rifles I've had and /or worked with, which is to say very well.
Now I need to figure out what to do with the Savage 111GNS I bought last January. Already tossed the 7mm RM barrel, which was pitted and rusty inside and out, and had the receiver Cerakoted in Graphite Black. Was considering 6.5-06, 6.5-06AI, 6,5PRC, .264WM, .280AI. With the addition of the 6.5CM I'm now considering a .375 Ruger, a cartridge I've been interested in since it first came out.

I have been using my dads 90's vintage 110FP (heavy barrel) in 300 win mag. The rifle shoots well. Its first 5 shots with basic Remington Cor-lokt ammo shot underneath a quarter.
The only upgrades I have done was add a muzzle brake and timney trigger. The rifle shoots MOA or better all day.

I bought a 110 t-Sr back in December in 300 win mag and other than the lack of a cheek riser I think it's an awesome gun. After finding that it likes 200gr ELD x bullets I've been consistently laying down .5 inch or less groups at a hundred yards. The main thing that I'm trying to figure out is whether or not a accufit stock fits on it. The other option is Magpul is supposed to be coming out with a stock that fits a 110. I just hope it fits this particular design.

Got my first savage 110 many years ago, so long ago it had the long action with the block to make it a short action which they hadn't made yet. Gun cost $149 with a low cost bushnell scope and cheap sling. Still got it but only the action is original, its a 308 tactical now and my boy uses it to hunt with. Been five more since then and they all have spoiled me with their accuracy, my avatar shows what a 12BVSS will do just getting in to bolt mods as my final step in assembling the most accurate budget rifle's you can build. Sav 2 trigger is unbeatable if you don't like accutrigger ( I like it for target but not hunting). Barrel swaps and headspacing right at the reloading bench at home. Only one left I have a hankering for is the carbon lightweight in WSM, a nice brake and different stock is all I would need. Looking forward to a couple days next week at the range doing load work, that's what I call social distancing
