Yup.
Saw the Axis advertised locally for 250 bucks after rebate. Still didn't bite. As far as stocks, I doubt there is a replacement as the stock would probably cost way more than the rifle. I remember seeing some info about strengthening a Ruger American stock. Might be something to look at doing to the Axis.

Boyds makes a bunch of stocks for them. Stockys makes a nice thumbhole as well. They a very versatile as they are all long action, even the short action calibers, even though they are more like a mid length action, if you have a short action and want to make a long action caliber, all you have to do is get a long action stock and magazine box, and standard savage prefit barrel. If you want them to have a standard recoil lug like the other savages, just have a smith face the action to the back of the recoil lug slot, and use a standard recoil lug. They are very user friendly buildable guns.

My wife wants to find one of the Muddy Girl stocks for hers. Anyone know where I could get one, or know someone who would trade the Muddy Girl youth stock, for a new, full size black stock?

I was just asking if those pieces are factory or if someone added them. I don't need to fix the stock.
