Just becareful as despite being a safe load and using the tooth brush when u start getting that compressed your seating depths will start to vary and also I have seen seating depth grow with time with loads sitting heavily compressed over night. I try to stay away from compressed stuff as much as possible now and just swap powders.

Agree. Good advice.
Seat the bullet in several steps, it is because of that. It comes out again, partly because of the compressed powder.
I have three options: manage to compress the powder more, lower the load and find a node below, or change the powder, which is what I don't want.
What do you think?

I have used H380 in my 308 that is a compressed load. I just take my powder spoon and tap the side of the case till the powder level stops dropping. Might work for you.

There is another technique that is just as capable in getting a better packing scheme with compressed loads.
It's called the swirl charging technique.
You use your powder funnel, the scale pan and you pour the powder slowly and at an angle to the funnel so that the powder swirls around the axis of the funnel.
This allows the powder to settle/lay in a much more condensed condition, even more so than vibrating or a long drop tube.
Bulky powder will drop in height in the case by 3/8" or more in fat cases after being swirled in over being dumped as normal.

With 308 brass necked up to 358 Winchester I find I can get 1.3g more of 4064 into the case when poured into the case using a funnel than if I just dump it in with a powder measure. 50.3g vs 49g. The load of 50.3g fills the case to the top. I load a 200g Sierra RN to the bottom of the crimp ring. Fine killer of deer.

I'm interested that you're getting half inch groups with 105 gr bullets in a 1:10 twist. I limit my 243AI with 1:10 twist to Sierra 85 gr HPBT bullets using 47 gr. IMR4350 for 3,377 fps +/- 8 fps for 0.5" groups for a rock chuck gun. There is room for another 1- 2 gr. IMR4350 in Lapua brass with the base of the bullet seated to the shoulder of the case.

I have a 26" Bartlein #3B fluted barrel, with a 1:7,5 twist.
With R25 less case volume is occupied, but I have a lot of H1000 what I do intend to use.

I use a plaster vibrator from my dentist's office. He sold it for his cost. It has 3 speeds. High is to hard . I mostly use low and a six inch funnel drop tube pouring the powder slowly so it really compacts. I'm using Fed GM215 match primers. You might be able to find a plaster vibrator at a hobby and crafts supply too. JM

This case charging technique is described in detail in a loading manual by Mic McPherson. The title is METALLIC CARTRIDGE HANDLOADING - PURSUIT OF THE PERFECT CARTIDGE. The discussion on swirl charging is on page 181, and it's very interesting. He contends that uniformity in the way the kernels are stacked in the cartridge case from load to load is actually more important to consistency than the uniformity of the weight of the powder charge. It seems like a bit of a stretch, but he has tested it thoroughly and says it makes all the difference. He also discusses the matter of dropped charges vs. weighed charges, which is interesting stuff as well. The rest of the manual is also a very good read, as this guy really picks the fly-specks out of the pepper. He covers every topic you might have a question about. I haven't tried his charging method yet, but I certainly intend to do so. I can't think of a reason not to, really. It shouldn't take any longer, or require any extra effort.

Switching to Lapua cases will give you LESS case volume as Lapua brass is thicker.

It's just a spin brush tooth brush from the Walmart's which are few dollars. Turn it on and hold it against case for 2-3 seconds.

I'm thinking that this is a great idea and that it ought to work just great. I've been using the handle of an old Lyman, primer pocket reamer and tapping the side of the case for many year. I used a long drop tube on an RCBS powder funnel the other day to work some RL19 into some .270 cases, and that worked just fine also.
