Disaster struck me last night ( The day before a 6 day mule deer hunt) when the wife's cat decided to make a run through through the gun safe. Naturally the only thing disturbed was my 300 Wby thats going on this trip:mad:
At first I though the only thing hurt was my pride, but after checking the scope, it obviously had been hit. It's a 3-9 Swarovski a now the zoom ring is sticky from 4-7 power:mad:
Well this morning I had to recheck for a zero and the damm thing is 12" low @ 100 yards. Everything seems tight inside the scope along with the bases and rings, but I'm wondering what get's knocked out of place if everything is still tight?
Should this scope be retired untill repaired or just rezero and go hunt?

if you have a scope you can put on it. i would do that and not take a chance if it's not broke that's great but it better to find out at home when you have time than on a trip. i know to well i had to drive 300 miles one time to get new scope rings on a mule deer hunt it sucks bad. are take a back up rifle. better to play it safe.

yet another vote for sending that cat to heaven!

I think that if you re-zeroed the scope and it stayed zeroed through 5-10 shots of the 300 it should be good, but if I had another good scope I would put that on for the hunt.

Get the kitty..... Get the kitty if it aint dead rename it to Cookin Fat at least;)

Aint it funny how most hunters I know HATE cats (Domestic types):D
