I just got one in and im planning on putting the ASG plug in it, anyone have any experience with one yet? And anyone done any experimenting with different bullets?

Evidently one showed up at the NMLRA Nationals and didn't do very good in the IH agg. From what I read it was leaking at the breech pretty bad.
It wasn't mentioned what bullet was being shot, but they have a maximum limit on BH209 of 84grs WEIGHT or 120grs VOLUME.

What size primer does your new ASG plug for your Paramount take? CVA recommends a large rifle primer for the loads they suggest and just wondered if Arrowhead stuck with that.

Thanks for the reply RBlevins. CCI is what I'm using too. I posted a short review on my Paramount back on August 26th on someone else's thread. I've been quite happy with my gun so far but I've not had any problems yet with any leaking around the breech so far. I had an elk hunt planned and the ASG breech plug upgrade wasn't available then so went with the Variflame adapters and had no issue. I also used the 280 grain Powerbelt. Here's a picture of my gun and the elk I shot with it. Not a monster but respectable. The first shot knocked it down at 210 yards. I wanted to recover the bullet but darkness and dicey pack out shortened my search for it and I had to give that idea up. I'm interested in your results with the ASG system so make sure and post some results.

owlman are you shooting 98gr or 105gr? Ive shot mine with the 280gr powerbelt and 98gr blkhorn and ive been impressed with accuracy at 100 yards. Im going to try to get out and shoot this weekend out to 350, and chrono it to see what Im getting speed wise and go from there with my dope. Nice Bull by the way Id be very pleased with it.

Here's what I'm currently shooting through my gun.

Powerbelt 280 grain ELR
105 grains by weight of Blackhorn 209
CCI No. 200 Large rifle primers

This gave an average muzzle velocity of 2313 fps with an ES of 10 fps using a Labradar. Tried CCI No. 250 Magnum large rifle primers and the muzzle velocity averaged 2425 fps but ES went up to 50 fps so will be sticking with the large rifle primers. I've had some pretty good groups out to 400 yards with this load on good days with no wind. As I stated earlier, I'm not seeing any leakage around the breech but I could be just lucky in that aspect. My Variflame adapters still look new after several rounds fired with them.

I took mine out yesterday to 300 yards and shot pretty much just under MOA groups. It shot an avg of 2240fps with 98 grains by weight of blackhorn with the ELR bullets. I may still try the 105 grain charge but for now shooting whitetails with 300 yards about my max shot I think Ill stick with 98 grains. Our season comes in tomorrow so I dont want to mess up whats working. I must say Im very impressed thus far with this "rifle".
