As we head home tomorrow morning, Zayne and Zaylea were able to kill the biggest bucks to date. Zayne used his 375 Zayne and a 279 Hammer to take this very nice goat.
Zaylea found her huckleberry on a ridge looking over a draw. She took this extremely beautiful and symmetrical goat with her 340 Zaylea Ann and a 236 Hammer.
Both were shot with excitement and tears of joy following the shot. I am the luckiest dad in the world.

Jayson

These will score mid 70's. Zayne was extremely picky. His goat is very tall but lacks cutter length. Zaylea's has length and cutters. Antelope hunting arguably is the best youth hunt there is. Lots of animals to look at. With that comes lots of opportunities. Teaches the kids to critically think, develop a plan, and execute. Hunting allows learning these skills in a relaxed and fun environment. I taught Zayne, Zayne taught Zaylea, Zaylea and Zayne will teach Zandyr.

Congrats to You and your Offspring Nice "Goats"! Though a little heavy (weight wise), I approve of your firearm choices! :)

More info on the rifles, cartridges, and shot distances involved! memtb

Thank you!

The 375 Zayne is a 378 Weatherby Improved. Holds 144 grains of powder where a standard 378 Weatherby holds 125. The 375 Zayne shoots a 279 Hammer 3200 FPS. Zayne shot his at 250 yards with a perfect behind the shoulder shot with a steady 15 mph wind.

The 340 Zaylea Ann is a 340 Weatherby Improved. Holds 112 grains of powder where the standard 340 Weatherby holds 98. The 340 Zaylea Ann shoots a 236 Hammer 3100 FPS. Zaylea and I made a very daunting and time consuming stalk. The grass was too tall to have a clear sight picture so I got on all 4's and she rested the bipod on my back. 2 nice breaths and a bullet was on its way. 200 yards and center punched the heart.

Thank you.

Both rifles weigh around 14 pounds. The kids carry them everywhere including the mountains. Haven't heard them complain one time that the rifles are too heavy. I believe that the only disadvantage of a heavy gun is weight.
