My meat and potatoes gun I call it. Use it for huntin out to 400 yards. I swear I believe I could close my eyes. Turn in circles and shoot upside down and I would hit the mark. The amount of game that has been taken with that rifle is insane.
Thanks for sharing, everyone. My lapua is the same to me, it seems that despite what i do short on my end the gun just picks up the slack. It is weird really. I shot 400 rounds out of it in the past two weeks and I have never known a gun so well, it's a good feeling! Don't even bother dialing no more I know where in the reticle to just shoot. I love it!
I'm a little obsessed with this one. 264 WinMag, Model 70, .5 MOA with Nosler ammo. I'm old school I guess. I love the high polished bluing and the Wood stock. It's a functional piece of art.

While my current go-to rifles are(at least to my old eyes) the, characterless synthetic stocks and drab metalwork of the contemporary precision LR rifles, I don't think they can ever replace the artistry of the classic walnut and blued steel classics. The Model 70 was my constant companion for my first four decades of hunting.

I have one just like it....late 60s model.....has been my guide rifle for nearly 30 years!
My current favorite is my Remington 700 6.5 Creedmoor. My son built for me for Father's Day 3 years ago. He trued the action and installed the barrel. As it was a surprise I did not have a stock for it. McMillan's delivery was about 5 months out. Excited to shoot it, I had a Remington ADL stock off a 700 varmint rifle which I installed. The stock has not pillars or bedding of any kind. The rifle still wears that stock and shoots in .2's and 3's. Needless to say even though I have the McMillian stock sitting in the safe, I will probably never install it on this rifle.

Here's a thumper that I really like. It's my Ruger Guide Gun in Ruger .375 Ruger. It's got quite a bark and a lot of bite, but it sure puts the hurt on anything I shoot with it.

Here is what I would call me "handiest" rifle. (My son borrowed it last fall.)
It's a Ruger Gunsite Scoute rifle in .450 Bushmaster with a 16.1" barrel. It's GREAT bush gun! Short, light, LOUD, and packs a wallop. Definitely NOT a long range gun! LOL.

223ai with a 1:8 twist sitting in a McMillan stock and a Bushnell LRHSi on top to shoot anything from prairie dogs to deer.

Well the one I been grabbing for 40 years has been a savage 1899 take down in 300 savage it has never let me down has put a lot of meat on the table And it's easy to carry
