143 ELD-X TRANSLUCENT TIP

Basically, I asked you a question out of curiousity as to "why translucent tips". I was seriously curious. I've probably got some since I loaded them in my 264 but I may not. I would have to open the boxes to see. Now I've got 147s and 156s that I'm loading for that cartridge.

Hornady claimed that the tip change was just a color change from translucent to opaque due to patent issues with the color-- what was the difference that you saw in the 2 different lots?

Curious as to why as well. I shot both and didn't notice any change with the bullet design. Same ogive, same bearing surface, same results.

I have one open box of lot #2151850 with 78 bullets remaining. I started to do a work-up with them, but then scored several boxes of Matrix 160 grain bullets - so neveer went any further with them.
