If it were me and this was solely a pack rifle and shots under 500yards I would pick a Barrett Fieldcraft in 30-06 and shoot 165 Berger's. Rifle weight is 5.6lbs and with a razor LH 3-15 all up would be under 7lbs. Everything I've feed mine is well under MOA and mostly sub.5.

I know you didn't list as an option but maybe give it a look. I love my seekins in 6 creed, but all-up its over 9lbs and I wouldn't want to pack that deep into the woods.

Or a fieldcraft in 280AI maybe?

So the dangerous thing about polls is that people cast their votes without any experience with either rifle...cough, cough, me.

Both will serve you well. I saw a guy at a comp win with a Bergara premier in 6CM. Beat guys with 3-4K rifles.
My premier approach in 6mm puts the hornady match stuff in a nice small clover leaf all day long.

Little update. I went with the Havak. I bought it off of a member here. It shoots great! I'm more that pleased with it. I topped it with a NF NX8 4-32 in Seekins rings. It slings the 215 hybrids a little north of 3000 FPS. At .36 Moa at a 100. I've taken three deer this season so far. Hoping to head to northern Colorado in the next couple years for elk with it. Thanks to all that replied.
