Firing Solution in Cold Weather for LRH Without my Phone?

I use a3"x5" note card (actually a page from a right-in-the-rain note pad) and record my drop and wind dope for 5 and 10 mph in 25yd increments from 325-800. I laminated the card and punched a hole through it then zip-tie it loosely to my scope tube. This setup works great and is super simple

My struggle is to find a rangefinder that will give me a firing solution without using my phone which does not work in cold weather below zero F. No matter how I carry my phone keeping it warm and covered the display goes haywire when I get it out in the cold air. By the time I have ranged a target and gotten my gloves off to use my Strelok Pro App I can't see the screen. Also if the sun is bright on white snow it is almost impossible to see the screen.
I am currently using a Sig 2000 with Strelok Pro with Leopold impact 29 reticle. This all works fine in warm weather albeit slow to have to range a target or animal, enter distance in App and dial the scope.

What are some of the solutions you have come up with. Are there any all in one units and do they work well in cold weather?

How accurate are the Sig 2400 and the Leica 2800.com and are their Ballistic solutions working?

The Sig 2400 has been very accurate for me and I like that it can sync (but doesn't need to) with my phone. I double check it against the Applied Ballistics app a couple times a year to make sure. I've tested it in a variety of conditions from about 10 deg to 90, but not below 10. As others have said, I always have a backup paper card ready in the event of failure.

I use a very similar method, one side of a card, laminated, for every temp in 30 degree increments with columns for DA in about 1,000 foot increments. Double sided card so I have two temps per card. Temp card is color coded via any background filled cells using a scheme that I can relate to, -10 blue, 20 tan, 50 green, 80 yellow, 110 red. Check the DA & Temp with my Weather Hawk, carry the card close at hand, checking temp/DA on occasion. It helps when you have a feel for where you hunt. Much faster and more reliable when hunting. Only failure is if "My Battery" goes dead, then I really don't need anything now do I.

Ive run a sig bdx 2200 and it gives the holdover in MOA or MILS in the screen after you input your load data into the app. I havent toyed with it a bunch but so far its been on. The data must go into the range finder because its worked when my phone is at the house and im on the range.

You can print out screenshots of the Strelok at various magnification, and use those as dope cards if you wish. It doesn't take much effort to "laminate" them with packing tape either if you want to be cheap.

I'd just learn trajectory for that one rig and judging distances out to maximum range I'd take game. I never used Strelok, ChairGun or any app before phones & here's a picture of a Deer at almost 300 yards with a .30-30

get the kestrel 5700 with link to a range finder true your round on the kestrel and you should be good to go we use ours at -40 up here

And/or just enter the range (from whatever the source) in the Kestrel. I've found the 5700 to be responsive in any temperature, but then range cards--created in close proximity of the wood stove home are even smaller yet--and there's even waterproof paper intended to be used in "inclement" weather as well as 2" clear packing tape over and around the card. Still carry in an inside pocket. AND the 5700 remains the computer of origin. While I've had success with the Sig 2400ABS and Terrapin X connectivity down to zero beyond that cannot be depended on. I've gone back to the original Terrapin and a real heavy--in more ways than one--duty unit; the former is a carry item, the latter not so much. Winter is the time for caribou on my line, but these days I limit outside activities to local-- --minus 30 and below. Everything is stressed beyond that and I've learned that the hard way.

If you are relying on technology you are setting yourself up for failure. If you just have one means of reference for data entry, you are setting yourself up for failure.

The Sig 2400abs has changed my life. There's some work involved to calibrate to each rifles profile. At very long distances (1000+ yards)same target, it'll give slightly different dope depending on humidity, temperature, barometric pressure, the stars alignment, political BS in the air etc...
It's always spot on when done correctly

Forget the phone. Use a kestrel, occasionally check ur density altitude, print dope cards on paper and use packing tape to laminate them in 1500 density altitude intervals. I like to tape the common DA onto my scope out to 600 for quick shots. Farther than that I dig out a card
