Retumbo replacement ?

Since I can't find Retumbo anywhere what do you more knowledgeable reloaders use? I really want a temp stable powder if possible but it is not mandatory. I'll take all of the help I can get. Thanks in advance.

What cartridge and bullet?? There is more to powder selection than "its close"

I have a few suggestions: one or two I use myself. Retumbo is a powder I often want/need to use but can not find it or it is not available at the time I am doing load development. I am relegated to H-1000, RS-Magnum, H-US-869 (personal fave), IMR 4831, H-4831 SSC, RL-22, RL25, and the now gone Win Supreme 780 (I loved that powder), and IMR 7977 and IMR 8133. I have on order RL-25, US-869, IMR-7977 and IRM-8133 to see if they work in my guns.

Since RL26 is just as difficult to find as Retumbo, I'll cast another vote for 8133 if looking for similar case fill and speeds to Retumbo. Seems to be pretty temp stable and "claims" to reduce copper fouling. I've had good luck with it in 300 RUM, 7WSM and 6.5-300 (US869 slightly better for all out speed) so far.

RE25 is almost identical in volume, velocity and performance.
I have never found RE25 to be temp sensitive like RE22 is.
My pet loads in the 300WM are 81gr with 180gr Accubonds/Ballistic Tips, 78gr with 215gr Berger and 79gr with 210gr Berger/200gr Accubonds.
It is THE most accurate powder in my Limber, closely followed by RETUMBO and H1000.

I have a 26 Nosler shooting the 156g EOL and a 28 Nosler running 180 ELDM's. Both rifles seem to like Retumbo but they inhale it. I picked up some Hodgdon US869 to try in the 26 but I don't know how it will work with temperature swings.

This is absolute rubbish.
I work my loads up in the heat of summer, in winter, the same loads lose no more than 30fps going from 120f back down to 37f or a little less.
Who works up loads until the bolt locks up? I know I don't and I shoot cartridges like the 338Edge and 338-416 Rigby Improved with huge doses of RE25, US869 & RE33, amongst others.

Temperature sensitive is generally not linear in any fashion. People who work up a load in the summer may not see any issues and may not see a lot of variation if in the powders sweet spot. Conversely if a person works up a load in the winter they could experience a significant change. Rl26 has done that in my creed. A winter load I developed shot well and showed no signs of pressure. I was about .5 grains under ejector mark swipes, sticky extraction, and cratering. I shot that same load at 90f and it was over. This particular charge appears to have a significant ramp up in higher temps.

18, the absolute best group I've ever shot was with US869. Sadly at warmer temps everything wonderful turned to poo! Certainly wanted that combo to be temp stable.
