Retumbo replacement ?

Since I can't find Retumbo anywhere what do you more knowledgeable reloaders use? I really want a temp stable powder if possible but it is not mandatory. I'll take all of the help I can get. Thanks in advance.

Some friends have had great groups with IMR8133 replacing Retumbo. They are side by side on the burn rate chart. Good luck

VV N570. Tried it in my 7mm rem mag and it worked great.

RE25 is almost identical in volume, velocity and performance.
I have never found RE25 to be temp sensitive like RE22 is.
My pet loads in the 300WM are 81gr with 180gr Accubonds/Ballistic Tips, 78gr with 215gr Berger and 79gr with 210gr Berger/200gr Accubonds.
It is THE most accurate powder in my Limber, closely followed by RETUMBO and H1000.

My preferred substitute for Retumbo is Reloader 26. While it's got a higher density then Retumbo, at charge volumes a few grains less then used with Retumbo it generates comparable velocity and very low ES. H4831sc and H1000, faster burners then Retumbo, are also excellent performers but will trade off some velocity. IMO.

Any one out there know where a guy can get his hands on a pound of VV N570. I don't see it available anywhere on the normal website like Midway, Brownell's etc.

Good luck finding N570, I've been watching every site I can find and local stores for months with no luck. I don't like the format of the powder burn charts at the upper end of the lists. It lists H1000 close to Retumbo. I have not found the two to be anywhere close to each other in how operate. I think there should be some place holders between the upper end powders to show that. I also think that the market is pushing new products instead of supplying the old standbys.

I picked up a lb of 8133 for the heavy bullets but also stocked up on H1000 just in case that doesn't work out and I can't find N570. H1000 doesn't shoot the heaviest bullets the best.

I don't quite understand how powder gets distributed but we seem to have a surplus of VV powder up here in Canada. I just checked a couple of different sites and they all have N570 in stock. I guess I better get some more. With the way things seem to go, next year the US will most likely have a surplus of it and we'll be out up here.
