Good Luck! I still can't shoot off one? A rock ..hay bale..my pack..No problem.
I think it's that loading thing? It seems to "bounce" more?

The leupold bipod is just a spartan made under license for leupold. Now your choices are down to two.
Sounds like you are describing a B-square. I installed a 1/2"X1/2" threaded stud in front of the sling stud on some of my rifles. The nut is about 1" diameter and 1/4" thick. It swivels and rocks.
The rugged ridge carbon bipod is not very good there are no set adjustments you unscrew the leg and it slides in and out hard to get where you want Fast a friend has one I did not like it you need an ATLAS with quick detach only $300 to $320 and they are as good as it getsI have looked online and found 3 or 4 ( Rugged Ridge, Spartan, Javelin, Leupold etc) but want input from others who have more. experience/exposure to them.
OK here's what I would like in a bipod.
Wish list
1) Carbon fiber/titanium as much as possible. I want light weight, this will be on my mountain rifle and want it as light as possible but still take into account the cost IE saving 1oz isn't worth an extra $300.
2) Able to use a permanently mounted stud/bracket whatever on different rifles so the same bipod could quickly be swapped from one rifle to another and I could easily be installed/removed from my mountain rifle on the go similar to the magnetic mount ones but in a more secure fashion. I don't want to loose it if it gets snagged in the brush.
3) Doesn't break the bank let's say $350ish max. But I am open to suggestions since I am being specific.
4) 9-13" ish range. Not dead set on this height but it seems to be the range that would suit my needs.
Is there a reason I should not get one of these ultra light styles?
If it matters there are at least 3 rifles I would use this on (maybe 5) light weight 30-06 mountain rifle barely over 7 lbs, a 6.5 CM and a 22-250 both heavy barrel guns weighting about 14 lbs.
Are there any carbon fiber ones I should stay away from.
Open to opinions on the subject....
Thanks
Darrell
I have the javelin ,rugged ridge, Harris and the mod Evolution. and have used a hatch. I prefer the javelin for my light rifles. its quick to deploy easy to leave in pocket and light. the mount is small and barely noticeable. but I wouldn't leave it on to pack around. I dont trust the magnets that much. the harris was my first bipod and liked it but believe a lot of these others are a bit better in multiple ways(weight, versatility, bulk, noisy). if I wanted it to be a sitting type bipod I would get the hatch or Rugged ridge with extensions. the evo offers extensions but have not used them yet. my evo is new to me and haven't used it yet. it feels solid and tight. Broz talks highly of this bipod. my rugged ridge is very solid, quiet fairly compact and offers extensions. for my heavier rifles it's been my choice.
How do the extensions work? You have screw them in don't you? Or is like the harris that extends out?I have the javelin ,rugged ridge, Harris and the mod Evolution. and have used a hatch. I respect your opinionThey are not as good as it gets for hunting. Gaming...possibility, bench, maybe, otherwise there are plenty of solutions that fit better.
