There's a lot of hype on the "A" tip bullet it seems like. Sounds like they shoot pretty good(all info I've seen had been from Hornady). I haven't heard anything on expansion. Is there anybody out there that has used these bullets for hunting yet? Just curious about it.

The gAy Tips are very very new, so not a lot of real world hunting experience behind them. Not a lot of reloading data using them either. If I get a chance at a coyote with the 230's from my 300 PRC I will let you know. But this thread should catch on as soon as there is guys blasting little critters with them.

Maybe I'm the only Hornady sucker?
You aren't a Hornady sucker. Waveslayer has it more correct - the bullets are so new and haven't been 'out and about' enough for people to have formed opinions. Just need some time. This thread will probably go on for a long time as people find it, try the bullets, then post up their results. I'm watching it as I'm curious, too.

Shot the 110 gr 6mm today thru a 6mm creed and they grouped OK at spec COAL- .9" at 200 yds- 5 shot group- pretty sure i pulled one to the right might have had a .3" without that dang coffee, lol. The 108 ELD match grouped .6" going to test the Atips again, i know i can shoot better! I haven't load tested nor did bullet seating depth just went off of hornadys load data and having some fun. Hopefully take them long range soon!

That's good to know. Please post next results.

I will say this they will have to be jumped at least in my chamber and quite a ways- with a .183 Free bore, touching the lands they have barely any neck length to hang on too and .010-.020 off the lands you will be out of the neck in no time, especially in the 6mm. I'm guessing erosion of the throat at .003 every 100 rds but we will see. Right now they are some where around .100 off and shooting good.

I am not supporter but have no reason to dislike Hornady bullets currently. I started using Hornady in the 204.....then gave the 147's a go. I have killed 9 or 10 wolves from 25 to 980 yards with the 147. Numerous Yotes. No issues. I use the 140's for PRS, 108's in the 6mm for PRS, and 140, 143, 147 for hunting predators.

All this makes me think the A tip is the same jacket etc just a different tip and design so it should in theory work for hunting too, within reason.
