300wsm vs 7mag

It will, have saw it up to 2900 with RL26 @ 3.12" OAL from a 24" barrel, Bertram brass. I will attempt to achieve the same thing.
Good luck with the short mag's they will never run with the parent cartridges I run a browning and Winchester service center for 7 years they didn't feed or extract they started to work better when they back the loads down to 150 -200 ft under the parent cartridges

No offense taken. Living in the other "Phoenix" metro area, I never see those powders on the shelves. I have always gone out of my way to buy local, so if I don't see it here I don't buy it. I am however intrigued with the hype with RL26. Perhaps Bruno will get some in so I can perhaps give it a try.

I do the same, buy locally.

I was stationed at DMAFB in 1992-1996 and used to hunt deer near the Biosphere area and learned to hate the jumping chollas.

I'm not sure that I hate the chollas, but I'm pretty sure that they hate me. The one thing I like about them, though, is that the deer like them - a lot. That's how they get the water they need to survive, and it always amazed me to see them munching and crunching on them like a kid eating an apple. The spikes don't seem to bother the deer at all. I shot a mule deer one time in Mexico, and there were so many spines in his chest, neck and face that he looked like a porcupine. Tough animals.

Yes they get them all over and dont seem to bother them, same for cattle. And you are correct, they do hate you and me and everyone else Lol

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll stick with my 7mag and run factory hornady ammo the 162gr eldx.
With the results I get with their factory 154gr sst. I'm sure the eldx will be great.

Plus the deal on the 300wsm has sold anyway. Haha

Another thing that doesn't seem to bother these desert deer is those big grubs they have crawling around in their sinuses. What's up with that ??? Whenever I've cut antlers out of deer skulls in desert areas, they had some pretty scary stuff in them. Do the cattle get those, too ?

I've never seen those grubs on their noses or on the cattle, you got me curious now, I'll keep an eye out for those.

Now ticks I've seen tons on them. The deer we carry them back to camp or truck and when we get back to camp we put those clothea on a plastic bag and make wake sure we dont have any on us. Now I've seen these on warm weather but not when it's cold.

Been thinking of field dressing for a few months now so this won't be an issue anymore.

LOL! Perhaps that's the better way of seeing it.
