Christensen Arms Accuracy Issues???

I found that if you do the brass prep they all shoot. Ive dont several for buddies that couldnt get em to shoot and with some tweaking they all shot.. neck turn...mandrels all help a lot. Yes sometime you vet one that just doesnt..

Not defending any company just my observations.

It is extremely difficult or impossible for anyone to build cookie cutter rifles, and not have an occasional dud. They can duplicate all process and parts, but one will be better than all the rest and one will be worse than the rest. If you are a high end rifle builder that mass produces a model in any number, some will not perform as well as others. They should all do better than standard factory rifles that are also mass produced, but this does not always happen.

Each rifle is an individual and will shoot differently with the same ammo so loading to suite the rifle is the only way to find that One load. if a rifle has a flaw that cant be overcome that is another reason to send it back.

Just saying that if you think that by buying an expensive rifle will automatically makes it a shooter, you may be disappointed.

I have worked on and seen many custom high end rifles that have not shot well that could be fixed by one change or another. they were good rifles that were just the lower end of performance as shipped.

The more rifles they make the better the odds are that they will have a problem with some.

Agree 100%, its always a risk weather building ground up $5,000 customs to a $300 savage. Barrels can go bad, anything. What you need to check on is service AFTER the sale "just in case"
I'm toying with buying their SPR bolt gun , the ONLY "chassis" rifle I like. looking at 300 PRC but probably stay with the tried and true .300 Win.

I have a 300 win mag in the ridgeline. It took me awhile to find a factory round that it liked. After about 60 rounds the action screws came loose, I threw some locktite on them tighten them to spec and accuracy improved. Once I shoot the barrel out I will probably replace with a proof barrel.

I have 3 Christensen's the first a 7mm rem mag hunter a Ridgeline in 300 rum and a Mesa longrange in 300 win mag.The 7mag shoots 168 Berger's same hole all day. The 300 rum shoots 175 lrx well I'm getting 1 5/8" groups
at 600 yds. The Mesa is shooting 210 vlds under 1/2" at 200 yds I'm very happy with them

I have a Ridgeline in 6.5 CM and a MPR in 6.5 PRC. I have had no issues with either one. The 6.5 CM is more accurate with factory ammo. I would not hesitate to buy another.

I have been doing some research and many posts from the past, like 2010 to as recent as 2016 seem to indicate that some of these rifles have issues. While I appreciate a sub-moa guarantee, i don't really want to buy a rifle, find that it is not a shooter and send it back for 6 months so the factory guys can fix the issues? Has CA resolved the issues it has had in the past? And as a bonus, if someone in the know can explain what the issues were and how they were resolved that would be icing on the cake. I watched videos from Jeff Brozovich over at another long range website and he really likes the ELR model and had good things to say about the accuracy. Maybe he was lucky and got a good one?

I have the MPR chambered in 308 with the 16" barrel and the Mesa long range chambered in 6.5 creedmoor. The 308 will shoot 1/2" five shot group at 100 yards all day long with the hornady eldx 178gr Ammo. The 6.5 creedmoor will shoot 3/4" group all day long with hornady eldm 147 gr Ammo. I run the MPR with a Silencerco Omega suppressor and I run the Mesa long range rifle with a Silencerco chimera. Both my Christensen rifles shoot as good as some if not all of my custom rifle builds.

I just got my 4th CA.
All of them have been .5 moa or better
With factory ammo.
After buying my first Christian arms I feel bad I wasted money on a custom gun I had built.......

Just got a mpr in 6.5 PRC and have had no problems, I've only shot 2 boxes of factory 143 eldx ammo and it's shooting very nice, I've shot several .3 groups and just shot 2 3 inch groups at 600yds. I'm very impressed, only thing I noticed is the action was very rough but smoothed out after a box of ammo.

For my issue, it wasn't that fact that I had a dud, it's how the company handles the issue and whether or not they feed you full of lies. Every manufacture out there at some point time does have a lemon or a dud. That is definitely understandable. The real issue becomes CS.

Thanks all for posting.. Christensen 7Mag nice shooting.. I understand that every rifle will shoot different, but I guess I am expecting some sort of quality control. This is not remington or ruger, who are turning out hundreds of rifles per hour/day (not sure), but I know it is a lot. I kinda feel if you are going to give a sub-moa or a sub 1/2 moa guarantee then you might want to shoot that rifle and make sure it does what you say it will. Or better yet, built your rifle to shoot a particular set up well. This way, you can say to your customers, we shot this factory ammo, or this hand load setup out of it and achieved the level of accuracy we stated. Maybe I am expecting too much for a 2200-2500 $ rifle.

Overall I feel a little more confident that whatever issues CA had in the 2010-16 era are mostly worked out, and I am just wondering if @shooters, you had a bad one? Also, add the case of the squeaky wheel, right, if you rifle is shooting good, you are happy, but if it is not shooting good, you go to the forums for some help and that is what turns up in searches..

Elkaholic Bob that is crazy that the screws came loose.. what factory ammo did you finally end up using, just curious.

I'm looking at the 300 PRC round, i am just not sure what model

I have a CA-10 DMR in 6.5 Creedmoor and I have issues. I sent it back to the factory once, but they shot it and said it was fine. I have a feeling they only shoot 3 rounds, which is understandable. My problem is that the first two shots are touching at 100 yds, but the 3rd walks a tiny bit, and 4th and 5th shot are off quite a bit further and further yet respectively. I'm taking 3-4 minutes between each and every shot (which wouldn't happen in the field obviously but eliminating variables). Swaro Z5 scope. Why would I want a semi automatic rifle if the follow up shots aren't worth a crap?

Both Ridgeline.
7mm Remington Magnum. 1/2" sometimes better.
26 Nosler I just bought...still breaking in the barrel. Shows promise.

No Broz did not get lucky, I have 4 from 338 lapua, 6.5 prc , 6.5 cm ba, and 300 ultra. All are below .50 @100.
