APA little bastard and Tbac Ultra 7...

I'm confused. I'm having a rifle built and have an APA brake. I also have a tbac Ultra 7 that I want to be able to go back and forth with. My tbac is in nfa jail but I was told comes with a compact brake. If I want to direct thread the can on my barrel, do I need to have my gunsmith thread my barrel to 5/8x24? I want to be able to take off the APA brake and thread my tbac on when I want. What do I need and what do I need to tell my smith?

Essentially your going to have to use two muzzle brakes for this rifle. The Tbac compact brake is a muzzle brake used to quick connect the suppressor to the rifle. Not direct thread.

Have your smith thread and time the Tbac CB brake since it has a shoulder. The Apa doesn't matter because it is self timing

I'm not familiar with APA. What is their thread pattern?
I would order a TBAC CB brake that is the same as the APA brake. TBAC is very strict on their class 3 thread pattern, which should work with other brake threads. That way you can change it out without issues.
The TBAC CB brake alone is good, but not as good as other longer brakes.

The TBAC brake are timed with their own washers, which come with the brake.

No reason to not have the brake properly timed on a custom rifle.
