Omega 300

my Silencerco Omega 300 should be here sometime around October. I am going to be putting it on my Browning X Bolt Hell's Canyon Long Range w/ 26in barrel in 6.5 Creedmoor. Going to be pretty dang long with it being a 7 inch long suppressor plus the 26 for the barrel but I'm excited.

How much point of impact shift can I expect?
Anyone run suppressor covers? What ones?
Direct thread or QD attachment?
Any other tips, tricks, or upgrades?

You'll be surprised about how the length effects it. It really just becomes part of the rifle, and not a real hindrance unless you're in thick brush. I'd recommend a direct thread attachment, doesn't take too much longer and saves a bit of length.

As far as covers go, if you're only hunting and shooting at the range, you can go without. I only use a suppressor cover when I'm match shooting, because 10rd shot strings will make things all wavy. I can get away with 4-5rds normally without vision issues. Otherwise, Armageddon gear and rifles only HAD cover are great. had both, currently using an Armageddon cover.

Fot POI shift, it's predictable time and time again, but it will have a small amount going from bare muzzle to can. My match rifles usually shift no more than 1moa in any direction, and it's always the same shift on each rifle. That being said, I don't shoot without them so it's not really an issue. My POI is the same every time I use the can, no matter how many times its been on and off the rifle.

in the woods, the omega knocks the harsh part of the sound out, but the shot is still kinda loud because it has a lot to reflect off of. Out in the open/out west, the suppressor makes just about any rifle super pleasant to shoot. when there is nothing for the sound to bounce off of, the rifle sounds soo much quieter. I love shooting suppressed out in the open.

well, when I got my omega, it took about 8mo I think. that was about 5.5yrs ago. my last one took almost a year. My current in progress will probably take a lot longer as I'm waiting for TBAC to make it and issue a serial #.

Check cashed 10/9/18. From the NFA tracker it looks like it is taking anywhere from 10 months to 14 months for the most recent approved tax stamps.

Likely due to govt shutdown. I bought 3 cans at once and paid $600 for stamps... took me 13 months to get them back. Just got them about 3 months ago. Thanks Uncle Sam!

The diffuser on the front of the Omega screws off and can be replaced with flat end cap saving about one inch.

Definitely go with the direct thread, saves on weight. If you are using it for hunting i would skip the cover, it will just get lost...
I just got a hybrid and a machine gun approved and both were right at 1 year. Good choice with the omega they are a great can. Im looking at the dead air nomad right now, supposed to be even better.

Not sure of the barrel diameter at the muzzle on the Canyon LR, but you might take a look at this info before settling on direct threading the suppressor.

I run an omega on a few different rigs and poi shift is very little to practically nil on some. I also run it direct thread on my hunting rifles and qd on my sbrs. It's a very versatile can if you can't tell. As far as the cover goes, if I'm at the range I run a cole-tac cover if I'm on a hunt it's in the range bag.
