Pretty sure Bertram and Hornady are the only brass options for 7wsm?

The rifle is almost boring to shoot because it never gives any issues.
It's the rifle I let kids and new comers to long range hunting shoot. It builds confidence quickly. It's taken a lot of animals in the 5 years I've had it

I'm building a 7mm SAUM on a short action and am hoping to get some starting points with some guy's pet loads. Planning on using ADG brass, federal 215m primers, and berger 180gr hybrids.

I have H1000, RL26 and H4831sc on hand that I could use as well.

H4831SC and IMR4350 work the best in mine with 154 gr. SST

All RUM cartridges are based off of the 404 Jeffrey, and the WSMs, 7.4gr less powder capacity in the 7Saum vs Wsm, but the case design allows nearly the same veoclities, yet with less powder. Longer neck on the saum, allowing more room to seat bullets long and get that billet seated at the neck/shoulder junction. Medium action is sweeeeet spot for the saums in my short experience with it, but people smarter than me steered me in that direction : )

I agree that the saum is easy to load for. I love mine. Have two barrels. One 24" proof and one 28" heavy steel one. The Saum has quite the following in the F class world.

Good rule of thumb is 25-35 fps increases per inch of rifle
This can vary depending on the barrel and manufacturers

Speeds can be dependent on chamber designs and free bore amounts

Compared to a non Broughton barrel. They are known to be faster barrels. Is this your first 7saum?

Yes it's my first 7 SAUM

Proof has great barrels also
Travis has a 22 inch barrel getting 2940 fps with the 180's
