375 RUM Build

400 grain bullet was around 2850. 370 shot around 2900. I was very surprised when I saw how efficient the changes made the case. Just think if the 375 Zayne didn't have a belt? We all know that belt takes away at least 200fps of potential velocity......;):D

Tagging in. I'm thinking about building a 375 RUM. I've got a 300 and 338 RUM now. I think I want to add to the collection.
I am building a 416/300RUM, have the dies, waiting on the reamer. Will shoot 400g bullets. Make your build over 40cal and you can use it in Africa should you ever go there.

There are several RUM wildcats out there. 300 and 338 Texan's are 375 RUM cases blown out and necked down. There is also the 416 Buffalo that is a 375 RUM case necked up to 416. All have incredible accuracy with lots of proven velocities. There's information on all of them here at LRH. Just use the search!

Speaking of weird Wildcats, I wonder if anyone ever built a .17 WSSM?

I ran the 265 LRX in my 338 RUM for several years. The 270 Barnes X bullet seems to be a very popular bullet for many people hunting with the 375 rum. There's seems to be a very good balance of velocity and accuracy.

Are those bullets stable out to 800+ yards? I would like to make this build my long range cannon for my yearly elk hunts and long range target practice. I would really be ecstatic if they would remain potent at 1000+
I hat a 27.5" barrel on mine. And I believe my velocity is 3200. I have killed elk out to 960 with it

I went a bit different route than the rest of you I have a 21" barrel on my Rem 700 LSS in 375RUM I load 260gr Accubonds @ 3020fps, 300gr @ 2800fps and 350gr TTSX @ 2550fps with RL17.

My rifle is set up for up close and personal defense with the 350gr loads when I have my XS Sights backup tall ghost ring sight installed.

When I have my VX3 4.5-14x40mm B&C scope installed the 260gr are my out to 600 yard combo.

I don't shoot it further due to not having the time to practice distances further than 600 yards.
