How are the 6.5prc rifles doing?

With all the early hype. I thought I would be seeing pics of one hole groups by now. Would love to hear how they are shooting. I have been looking at it but am currently working on another rifle so I haven't pulled the trigger on it. Looking at the Bergara Premier b14 hmr. Can anyone tell me how much extra room is in the magazine for seating bullets out?

They shoot really well one down fall is the factory freebore .188" and ammo leaves very little room in a true short action dbm or wyatts then handload a berger and your outta luck chasing the lands. seekins has real nice factory setup with a really good DBM system. unless the bergara has 3.00" or slightly longer mag internally it wouldn't be my choice..

If you wanna do a 6.5 PRC and not go the custom route a Tikka is the action to build one on.

built mine on a rem 700 long action. Carbon six remage barrel and is a switch barrel to a 300 prc. factory hornady 147 eld ammo is shooting under 1/2" at 2820 FPS in a 21" barrel. So far I like it a lot!

Let me rephrase, if you wanna build one on a action that mag box wont hinder you. Tikka or Long.

Tons of room on a 700 long action. kinda defeats the purpose of the 6.5 prc but i wanted a switch barrel set up i could run multiple calibers so it works great for me. Feeds fine out of a magpul bottom metal with magnum magazines.

Was able to put this 3 shot group together this morning, 147 ELDM, 56gr of RL25. 26" Proof Sendero on a 700 long action.

Mine shoots bugholes with 147's at 2965 and 143's at 3000

Haven't shot mine yet but ran into the same issue as everyone else. I have a 22" proof and will run it suppressed. My 147's are 3.020 to the lands. If I run 2.90ish on a savage short I can fit them fine in the mag. So the dilemma for me is to go SA and run them deeper with jump or stick with long action and run them out. The good news is that running them deeper does not seem to be a problem with the neck shoulder junction and boat tail ogive junction. They seem to be right where they should be. IF I stick with a PRC I think a custom reamer with less freebore is the ticket. If not I am not sure I will keep the PRC. Stick with my 6.5-284's maybe.

I built mine on a Defiance Deviant XM action, so no length issues. I suffered with that for years with a long action STW, so I wanted this one to be in the right size. It has fed and extracted perfectly with everything, even 147 ELDs loaded +3 inches. I have tested 4 bullets using 4 different powders and the average of the group's is running 0.6 MOA, with the best groups in the 0.4-0.3 range. I've only gotten out to 300 yards, where It's held 0.4 MOA with 59gr H1000, 143 ELDX at 20 off running Ave 3097 fps. from a 26 in Proof Carbon.
