20 MOA Pic rail for Mod 70 Pre '64 Question

Hope I'm posting in the right place. And I figure some of you have been through this.
Just picked up a .308 Featherweight (1956 Mfg.) with a little 2.5 Lyman. I plan on putting on a Vortex 4-16.
This is the first Winchester I have owned since I was a child with my old '94 (1932 Mfg.). That being said, and the Pre '64- Post '64 dates, are the base mounting holes the same? With Rem., seems it's either LA or SA. But dealing with Win. I'm kinda stumped. Any help is much appreciated.

You could begin by going to Winchester with the serial # for an answer to the spacing or call Leupold or Brownell for help

I went to Talley and was told pre-1989 are all the same within action size.
I'll find out when the rail gets here.
