Two engineers Shooting from Spain!

Make sure you visit Alaska, before you make up your mind. Long, cold winters, but the other seasons are really nice. Not sure on too many jobs in the wind energy Department.

Welcome, my wife and I have been thinking about visiting Spain. My wife want to walk the Camino de Santiago de Compostela. Me, for the wine and food, especially a good paella. Love you wine from Rioja and Catalunya especially the Tempranillo and Garnacha, I like the blends as well.

Saludos y ojala pronto puedan visitarnos

Oh My God! Have you seen Praire Dog? Our friend sayes that he likes Tempranillo and Wine from Cataluña. These wine sucks my friend. Come here and I promise you will try the best wine in the world, Tempranillo is a wine for tourists... Come here, we will show the best wine you have ever tried. And with really good food!

Well.....you've mentioned two of the states I've lived in. I was born and raised in Louisiana, and moved to Wyoming in 1985. Louisiana has great food, but limited long range shooting opportunities. Wyoming has much for long range shooting..... but limited for good food! :D memtb

My friend, you don't really know what is to have limited long range shooting opportunities, believe me. In Spain there is only one place where we can shoot to 900 yards.
The rest of places are not good (100, 200, max 300 yards) and very far away.

Maybe another question to ask is - do you like hot temperature or cold temperature? How about humidity ?

For me I like cooler temperature and low humidity. I use to live is South Dakota but not too many engineering jobs.

Who cares about the humidity or cold weather when you have lots of guns? Hahahaha

Not to brag (much), but I can shoot to over 1000 yards from my back porch. Though, accessing your targets is a bit of a challenge. A small river to cross, to set-up and check your targets. To have relatively flat terrain, and no river crossings.....will require a drive of a mile or two! ;) memtb

You are lucky. In Spain we can't shoot targets in the forest or even not in our lands. The only way to shoot a rifle is in a certified shooting club or in a certified hunting day.

Yes......very lucky! One of the "perks" of living in the rural western USA! memtb

One of the peaks of living in most of America.
You may have good wine but your food is rough for me. We Americans don't like anything healthy so all that rabbit food you eat is tough for a guy like me. Lol. The family I was with at least had American night on Thursday so lots of meat.
I may like it more now since I'm older but I kept telling my mom how little meat you eat. She said that's why your skin is better.
Best diving I've ever done though. And lots of nice women to look at.
Hopefully we can welcome you soon to call the USA home.

What wines do you recommend? I've found some pretty good ones and it depends how much you want to pay for the bottle. You get what you pay for. My inlaws brought me some last year, they have a nephew that lives there, and they we're pretty good.

Here we are my best friend Iván, that is also member of this forum, with his Remington milspec 5r; and me with my Bergara HMR 6.5 creedmoor chambered.

We both love America, last two years we have spent our holidays in your country. And on September we are going to come again. Our dream is live in your country, and our pasion the long range shooting.

You men look like you BELONG in the USA. While waiting to move here, why don't you come for a hunt?

We both would like to live in U.S. but our favourite states are: Texas, North and South Dakota, Wyoming, Loussiana,,, But not in California! no firearms there!

But all your country is beautiful so I have not problems, would be a dream also California.

And answering your question, we are mechanical engineers. We work in Wind Energy industry, I work in VESTAS and Praire Dog is design engineer, he designs machines to our industry
There are a lot of wind turbines being installed in Texas and Oklahoma (my home state). I think the blades are made in Texas.

I think VESTAS has some manufacturing sites in US. Could you transfer to a US location?

Some of the members have said how easy it is to shoot long rrange. I can assure you that this convenience is not common. I have to drive about 1.5 hour to shoot out to 1000 yards. Most shooting ranges are 100 yards and 200 yards.

I love Spain! I've been to Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, San Sebastian, Valencia, Leon, and Toledo. Beautiful country, rich history, and probably the best food I've ever had. Glad to see some shooters there. I can't wait to go back.
You are very welcome here! Contact us if you come again and yes, food here is really good

No problems with the weather. We are from Galicia, a spanish region and here the weather is crazy. Shy is gry and during the same day you have warn, cold, rain and sun!

Country is more important thab weather and The best country is America!

I know but in Spain managers are different. If you are a good profesional they dont help you to grow in your career and face new challenges. Instead they push you to work more and more but in the same position... I prefer your managing style
