My Rem 700 FIRED on Bolt Closing!!

Triggertech has a "trigger check function" section (step 6) in their instructions

Section 6d says " safety off cycle action- firing pin should not move"
And section 6e says "safety off rap butt-stock- firing pin should not move"

Interested to see what TriggerTech has to say.
With a blueprinted action it could be an ignition timing issue.

Thanks for the input fellas! (Remmy700 was kind enough to text me!) and I will let you know how I make out.

I left several messages with Trigger Tech this morning but so far I have NOT received a call back...Hmmm. Wonder what's going on with that?

That's why I won't use Trigger Tech, by design they won't work in every action because they are not adjustable for sear engagement, every one I've sent back was to spec and had to be sold and replaced with a Timney. I've had more than one do it and just not worth it!!

Yes I will contact TT but I have a trip coming up in 3 weeks so I am going to be careful and cross my fingers for now:(

I played with it for 1/2 hours now. It will only fire 1in 10 times if I slam the bolt closed as hard as I physically can.

I have it set at @ 2.75LBS

I should be ok for my trip.

careful and finger crossing is not an option here. Your gun is not safe to chamber a round until the slam fire condition is corrected. you need to be in total control of when the gun fires.

Have had a few and I like them ok but I don't play with triggers I can't adjust myself. I like to tune my weight, over travel and sear engagement. It only makes sense as if u can adjust weight why would u not be able to adjust sear as that engagement changes with pull weight!!
Sear and engagement does not change pull weight, it adjusts the amount of sear engagement, I can understand why because guys adjust stuff they shouldn't be any where near but you can't build a middle of the road engagement and have it work in every action.

Correct but the amount of pull weight effects sear engagement which is what my post said. The sear engagement is not going to be the same when looking at trigger at 1 lb vs 3 lbs of pull weight.
It better be the same or you have an issue, pull weight and sear engagement are two different mechanisms! Your sear engagement should remain the same regardless of pull weight!

Correct again, but when u make weight changes your sear engagement changes so u have to adjust them in tandem. This is how people have this super great trigger then adjust the weight and now they introduce creep (sear has to much engagement) or the slam fire (not enough sear engagement). And I never said they were one and the same, they are separate entities but anytime u move trigger pull weight even if it's minuscule sear engagement is tampered with.
