What do you guys do ?

I have separate dies for some carriages and mark the threads on the sizing die with a marker for others but it really doesn't matter that much. I end up adjusting the shoulder bump every time depending on the varied brass characteristics. If you check the bump space it will vary slightly even when the die is left on the same setting. Best to modify die setting for each similar batch of brass. Just takes a minute.

What do you guys do when you have 3 rifles of the same caliber. Do you have a die set for each ? I have a Tikka T3 , a TC Compass and a TC 28 in. Encore hunter barrel all in .... yes, 6.5 Creed. I have set of Hornady custom dies set for Tikka. I use for TC barrel also because the brand new Lyman dies I got scratch the cases full length ! I don't much care about the TC Compass. I won it. It shoots good but stock way to short for me. I was going to polish the Lyman dies with 600 grit wet and dry and fine steel wool. Hassle to send back for me. What would you do ?
no 2 chambers are the same, and I'll slide out on the edge and say never. They may be close, but not the same. I have a couple of 7-08's and a Die Set for each of them.
my .02 cents

I have two 6.5x47's. The first had a Kreiger Med Palma/Surgeon action that was headspaced to new Lapua brass, and fired brass sized with A Redding competition S FL dye set to the new Lapua dimension. My subsequent rifle is a Savage/Criterion/nut barrel that I headspaced myself to match the Kreiger/Surgeon's headspace. I use the same dye/setting with both rifles with excellent results. Additionally, the H4350 powder charge and seater is the same as well using Berger 130 Hybrids. Both rifles are within 10FPS of 2900FPS with sub .5MOA precision to 1000 yards. I'm currently preparing to add a third using a Bighorn/Criterion MTU to try for a third.
That's slick. No extra dies no adjusting between the two.

I bought two sets but wasn't about to by a third for a rifle I'll rarely shoot. The other two I do.

I like the competition shellholders too . I have a few sets of them and they work great . shoulder bump is repeatable because the die is turned down to contact the shellholder . I have 3 different 7mm-08's and these shellholders make using one die set easy .

I'm not familiar with competition shell holders. I saw it mentioned before.

these are slick . you get a set of 5 shellholders . they are +.002" , +.004" , +.006" , +.008" , +.010" . these size your brass that amount LESS than a standard shellholder . so you would want to measure a piece of fired brass from the case head to the shoulder datum using one of the tools like the hornady headspace tool , or the Larry willis innovative tool . (these are the two I can think of right now) . then you size the brass with the .010 shellholder , and measure it . if this didn't size your brass enough , you put in the .008 shellholder , and measure your brass . if it's still not sized enough you put in the .006 shellholder . by starting with the +.010 and working towards the +.002" each shellholder sizes the brass .002" more . you just keep going to the next shellholder until you get the desired shoulder bump . slick and simple once you use them .

Just curious, what kind of fps are you getting with the encore?

I use a pretty simple cheap method to use one die for multiple rifles. get yourself or make yourself some shims that will just barely fit around the die body. a few in .002 and .003 should be fine. I have access to some nice precut shims that fit perfectly.

now say you have 3 rifles that need 2.099", 2.097", and 2.095" to get a nice .002" bump. I simply set up the die for the 2.095" and use as normal, for the rifle that needs 2.097" simply slide a .002" shim under the die lock ring before tightening it down, for the rifle that needs 2.099" just add .004" shims under the lock ring....with good quality shims, and good notes taken, this method is very reliable and repeatable, same idea as the different thickness shell holders, but a bit more customizeable.

Let me look at my notes.
Looking for TC Encore 28 in. Hunter Barrel FPS.
I Found this on the other two 6.5 Creeds.
Tikka T3 w/24.5 in. barrel
45.0 grs. Superformance CCI BR2 large primers. Hornady case (did w/Starline,Sig and Jagemann cases also. Very little difference).
FPS 2849.2824.2824.2842.2829. Ave. 2833.
This I don't understand with a 2 in. shorter barrel at 22 in. on a TC Compass (bolt action made by S&W...)
Same load, everything.
FPS 2864.2862.2861.2802.2808. Ave. 2839.
