Savage 110 storm 6.5-284 long or short action?

The Savage 6.5x284s are long actions. Savage has once again moved away from the 10/110, 12/112, 14,114, etc naming scheme. This is most likely the number one reason why aftermarket support is not greater.

You could always buy a Remington, Savage, or maybe Bighorn long action and put a barrel on yourself. It is what I would do. NorthlandShooterSupply has a good inventory of factory new actions. they also sell barrels from Criterion and Shilen. This way you can get closer to what you really want without paying for a custom build.

I have bought a couple barrels from NSS and would definitely do business with them again.

Thanks. I'll check out the actions they have on their website.

All the Savage 6.5x284's are built on a long action. Good choice!! My Savage 6.5x284 is exceptionally accurate and reliable. I know of a few others owned by buddies that perform as well.
Two different loads at 200 and 500 yards.

Are the Accufit stocks just marketing or are they worth keeping on the rifle?

If I needed to change out the stock anyways, I might buy an action and a barrel from NSS. Thanks!

They are slightly better than other Tupperware stocks and that is about it.

I don't understand why Savage has done this to their nomenclature. I recently bought a 204 Ruger "12FV" and they moved up to the bigger threads on the bases. Why on earth??? It's a micro-action cartridge. The recoil is rimfire mild.

Only a very expensive 20MOA Leupold rail had the proper screws and it was labeled for some Long Range or Precision Savage long action model. I had to harvest those screws and buy the short action version of the rail. Thankfully Cabelas took mercy on me since I made 3 trips for wrong bases.

The move to call everything a 110 is getting confusing already. The used parts and stock market is going to have to figure out how to deal with this.

As far as Savage stocks go, they're improved and they work, but I STILL SWAP THEM OUT. I got in on the Cabela's 12FV sale Saturday, took the rifle apart Sunday, it's better, but no, ordering a chassis for another build.

Explain, what's wrong with the Savage triggers? The best that was made is the Sharp Shooters Supply trigger, I have one and it's just as sweet as my REM Timney.

That is not an accustock.
