Remington 700 Long Range 300 RUM

I haven't found the 300 Ultra to have excessive reoil. but a good recoil pad and muzzle break would help.

Ahh, around here the are plentiful and most hunters who by a Rum pull the trigger about twice and decide it's more than they can handle. Same with the big .338's.

I came across that exact situation where a guy had brought out to the Range a brand new Sendero 300 R.U.M. he loaded it with 225gr. bullets then shot it only a few times and said the recoil was too much for him and he was going to sell it.
If I had the money I would have bought it off of him right then.
I've had my 'Remington 700 M40 Long Range' - 300 Remington Ultra Magnum - that I bought on clearance several years ago and it is by far my favorite .30 Caliber Rifle for Long Range Shooting and Reloading.

I have a question about these rifles.

Apologies ahead of time for the temporary thread hijack, tbrice23.

 I've been searching for a Remington 700 Long Range Stainless in...ummm... 300 RUM... ahem... for a friend...

Anyway, not sure if Remington quit making them or what, but I was only able to locate ONE... and it's not local so I can inspect... for my ahhh... friend... just wondering if any of you guys might know if Remington May have quit making them so I can pass that info on... yeah.
Asking for a friend...;)
Remington still has them on their website, so just wondering what the deal is?

Ohh yeah.
My friend says the tube went out in one of his "Light Sabers" (Thanks to Darth) and now he wants a bigger one.

If he does happen to get one, he's already asked me to ask here about handloading for it... :D
maybe tbrice23 will give up the goods to save my friend some time....:p

I got my stainless from Sportsmans $600 +tax out the door 2 years ago this time! Went in to get some reloading component's and came out with a rifle too. Couldn't leave it for that price! They list $941?!

PS: The quality was way more improved from when I bought 2 matching BDL stainless 300RUM & 7mmRUM, when they first came out, in the early 2000's. The trigger was still ***, simple swap.
