Cooper muzzy

I used a Cooper last year. I hadn't used a muzzy in a long time. I was amazed at the accuracy. It shot great with BH209 and PB's. I would of liked to use sabots but you can't in Colorado. It would shoot MOA with most loads I tried which admittedly wasn't allot since the bullet I wanted to shoot, shot so well. I will be hunting muzzy a lot more now after seeing how accurate they can be. Definitely didn't feel very handicapped using a muzzy instead of a rifle.

Just a suggestion... you should look into the .50cal Fury bullets. The .50cal Star Tip is an outstanding bullet on game, shot land riding with a wad, no sabot. Its a better bullet by far and very accurate out to 300yds. Fury has a sizing package, so you can test the force to load in your rifle. Once you determine the correct size, Fury will size them for you, or you can buy a Swinglock die and size them yourself. They will HAMMER what ever you intend to hunt.

I own 3 cooper rifles (used to have 4) and I really like them. My Muzz is an old Thompson Center Black Diamond in .45 cal and it's good out to 225 yards. That said, I totally get why a guy would want a Cooper Muzz, I just don't know how he justifies the 2k+ pricetag.

The Custom Classic they show on their website has AAA+ claro walnut! Beautiful for sure, but I don't know if I'd want to be humping the brush with one of those. Synthetic or wood, for the price of a Cooper Muzz, I'd rather get a more cost effective smoke pole and put the extra frog skins into a nice optic or other hunting related implement.

Appreciate the info. It's a .45 cal. It was hard to find much out there when it came to a google search for .45 muzzy bullets. And not being real familiar with muzzy's I used what I could find. I'll look into those and see if they have a .45 cal bullet.

I have a custom built muzzleloader from Arrow head sporting goods. But if your wanting to spend that much money on a gun I'd look up hanks message board and research the muzzleloader's they have on there. They are world class builders and shooters on that forum.

I didn't want to be the first to mention "custom build" LOL

I've been at this game for a LONG time, always having the itch to get something better than what I currently had. I can tell you for certain, it costs a ship house full of money. I shot Encore platform rifles since they came on the market and always seemed to make each rifle shoot better to a degree. Then I got on the long range kick and purchased a BP Xpress from Ultimate Firearms Inc. I finally had my long range muzzleloader (or so I thought) that I could shoot small groups with at long range, yet still maintain enough bullet energy.
Photo of the rifle is in my avatar. It IS accurate and any other 50cal muzz is going to have it to do, to keep up with it.



That all said and regardless, I finally got my act together and decided it was enough of playing, sorting and in general more work. I decided to have Bestill Creations LLC build me a custom 45cal.
Knowing what I know now and what my experiences have been, I could and would have saved myself a TON of money, time and work, had I went custom in the first place. The cost of a Remington Ultimate conversion is the cheapest way to go, but a true long range rifle is the end result.

In a smokeless .45 inline built on a 700ml action, I have had good luck with Hornady sst ml .452 diam. 300 grain bullets sized to the barrel

I shoot 195 grain Precision's with 90 gr BH in my TC G2 .45. It's a killer.
