Im looking for a lease in Ms .
I have a wife and two small kids
I'm looking for a lease to take them and enjoy the outdoors .
I live in Lincoln Country and would like to keep the drive down to no more than 2 1/2 hours. I'm management minded and very respect full.
Please any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried listing or calling MS Outdoors Magazine, or maybe advertizing in the various Trader mags, sporting goods stores, DWFP, etc? I have a brother in the South, and deer leases are highly sought and can be long waits to acquire. Best of luck

Git to know some soybean farmers.

I might have to give that a try.
I just have to figure out where they are growing soybeans lol
I've seen cotton, corn and more cotton
Guess I'm looking on the wrong side of the road. Now if I were in Alabama or Louisiana that would be another story but not being originally from Ms
I need some help . Are you a soybean
Farmer?

Not soybean, but we do hay, and egg houses. Any crop land you see deer on just start looking around to see how has it, then just ask them if you and your kids and wife can hunt there.

Not a lot of soybeans being grown south of Jackson. Most people growing pine trees. There's land out there to lease but most land set up into what they call hunt clubs. Get involved with your kid if he or she play sports. Get involved in a local church. Also have Federal and State WMA that can be hunted. The market bulletin from a local co-op might help your search. I would recommend buying land more for your investment. Good luck with your search.

If you are willing to head to North Mississippi there is a lot of Weyerhaeuser land available for lease in the $6-7 per acre range. However, be ready to listen to your neighbors run deer dogs constantly.

I will tell ya from experience that you should find as much land as cheap as you can find in as remote as possible an area that has water, bottoms and thick. Not only will it be an investment but it will produce more than a lease will and you will avoid a lot of nonsense! You don't need hundreds of acres to kill good bucks. Choose wisely in a GOOD area known for growin good bucks and slowly make it into your OWN honey hole. Wish I would have done that 40 years ago!

I hear ya Al
I do have my own property right out my back door. The problem is I can't control what everyone around me kills. I can shoot Does by the dozens .
Growing big bucks is tough because the land around me is leased to those who live by the rule if it's Brown it's Down . You would think all the bucks will come hide here and they do but
they are just youngsters. Next year opening day when they still haven't learned they will get hammered before making it to safety of course safety is only 4 to 5 years old here to
Lol . I do have a new things going to keep a few of them here and only time will tell until then I'm still looking for a good management minded lease. Thanks
