.338 Edge by Defensive edge. Its a Canyon rifle, built on a BAT action, 30" Hart barrel, HS stock, Jewel trigger. This picture is rather old, the gun is wearing a Night Force these days.

That rifle looks like a cannon!!

Have any of you guys seen this ammo? A knife trading buddy brought 4 boxes to sweeten a deal we had cooking? It says Barnes Ammunition but it doesn't look like retail boxes? None of the standard warnings just these plain boxes. The headstamp is a shield with a L in it. Any help? 300 Gr.OTM and some numbers? Would you shoot it?

Brass is Lapua, that is good/expensive stuff. As far as the loaded ammo, simple answer. Call Barnes and ask if they produced it. They would likely have more solid answers than a bunch of guys on the internet.

With all those nice 338's out there I just had to post something about mine as well. I have worked for over a year to get it to shoot well and couldn't get it to shoot under 1 MOA. So, I decided to machine a solid aluminum bedding block integral with a magazine cutout. This apparently gave the additional stiffness (and weight) needed to get it to shoot. It now shoots <~ 1/2 MOA. It is a Weatherby Mark V action (no accurizing) with a 28.5 in. Krieger #5 bull sporter barrel with a 10" twist. It is chambered in 338 NM and shoots the 300 Berger EH at 2800 fps with 95 gr RL33. And, it now weighs a hefty 14# with scope and bipod (which also helps with the recoil).
