Seekins Havak

I'm interested in the 28 Nosler but the Seekins website has zero interesting data on the Havak. It shows that the Havak has a Timney trigger, but Timney doesn't list Seekins as a manufacture they supply, so no part numbers are available. I'm curious what other triggers will drop in.
Also does anyone know if:
the throat is long enough for the long-for-caliber bullets
the magazine will accommodate long-for-caliber loads

I received my 28 Nosler this week and I am very happy with everything so far. Mine does in fact have a Timney trigger, the carbon fiber mag measures 4.0" inside which is more than enough, I am trying the 180 VLD's first, and mine were hitting lands approximately at 3.59~" OAL. thats putting the bearing surface a touch below the neck but not much. I'll be headed to the range this weekend to try it out, I have high hopes for sure, I paired it with a VX5HD 3-15x44 and Seekins rings with Seekins ATC muzzle brake and the total package weighs 9 lbs unloaded according to my trigger scale

Headed to the range Sunday to see how it performs, using retumbo with 215m's to start with, the rifle itself weighs 9 lbs with Seekins rings a VX5HD 3-15x44 and a Seekins ATC muzzle brake, it does have a timney trigger that came set at 3 lbs, mines at 1.75 now

Anyone tried a different stock on these? I am set in my ways and prefer a Classic type Hunting stock.
Thinking of experimenting with a cheap synthetic to check if it's just a remodel to allow the bottom metal to fit......

Interested in hearing the range report.

Interested in hearing the range report.
75 rounds through it so far, I found a respectable load at 1/2 MOA and about 3110 with Retumbo and Berger VLD's, and have walked it out to 1140 yds with it being able to hold 1/2 moa all the way, It is a dedicated hunting rifle so I'm not going to shoot another 100 rounds trying to get .2" groups, I am happy with its performance and the speeds should go up a bit within another 25 rounds or so when it fully breaks in,

I picked up the 300 Win Mag three weeks ago. I've wanted a Nightforce for a LONG time and this was the perfect rifle for it. I found a used one for sale and snapped it up.

I've had two neck surgeries and didn't think I'd ever shoot much less own another 300 mag but after researching and reading quite a bit I decided to see what I could find. I saw this one at Cabelas held it, dry fired it a few times and decided to speak to the wife. She gave me a thumbs up and a couple of weeks later I pulled the trigger so to speak.

I've shot it only a few times and absolutely love it. I have done preliminary load work ups and the best group is definitely better than 3/8 MOA. Pics attached.

This is a great thread. I've been drooling over one of these in 6 Creedmoor all summer. I've got a quality mule deer tag in my possession, and have to wait till after the hunt to make any big purchases. Can anyone here think of any reason not to go 6 Creed in this particular rifle?

Thanks a million.

Yeah was really looking at selling a rem 700 sendero and then buying one of these but in the end opted for rebarreling the rem and truing the action. Just ordered up a bartlein 3b 30 cal 1:9 twist. I really like the havak but I've never had a good smith (or any smith) go through a rifle for me. I'll find out what I've been missing in 4 months and $1100 from now haha.

I have only put 35-40 rounds through my PRC but it shoots .5 with factory ELDX. I am loading up a few with the ELDX and H4831SC and will try some different seating depths to see if it does any better. The bolt on mine was not gritty but has been pretty slick to start with. I am impressed so far.

Just got my rifle tonight. Anyone have a good idea how to attach a pic rail for my bipod without drilling more holes? I see they make adapters but it looks like the really stick down far...

I'm exploring options. Drilling a hole is likely. I ordered a bag of t-nuts to fit the molded recess in the barrel channel.
