Building a new lightweight rifle with a titanium action proof lite barrel McMillan hunter edge fill and I am trying to find the right scope for the setup. I want the scope to be lighter but have max magnification from 16-18. I've been looking at the V6 3-18x50 coming in at 22oz. Anyone have any opinions on this scope or a scope comparable in performance/weight/price. I'm a big nightforce proponent but they're just a little heavy for my liking on this build.

They've always had great glass but these new V4 and V6 are a big improvement for shooting distance it looks like. Thanks for your input mudrunner

Definitely a huge improvement over previous models... The better turrets, the 30+mm tubes, better elevation travel, better reticle options, etc... They definitely stepped up their game. I've been wanting to try a V4 6-24x50 or a V6 5-30x50 with the ZBR #91 reticle. Got a brand new set of Seekins rings sitting on my bench just waiting for something new. :D

If you can handle the ballistic turret check out the Swarovski Z5 3.5-18. I have a zeissv4 4-16 and like it so the Zeiss should also be a good option with a real turret.

Agreed! I have a few older Ziess and love them but they couldn't hold a candle for shooting 500+ with a lot of other brands. Looks like a V6 will be in my future soon. The build will be a 7 rem mag throated for 180s with a 1:8.24 twist so looking to get a lot of elevation adjustment versus a ballistic turret.

Same here. I have some older Conquests (3-12x56 30mm FFP, and a 6.5-20x50 target turrets), and used to sell high-end brands at the gun store when I worked there. Zeiss has always been underrated here in the US.

Definitely look at redhawk rifle if you are interested in the v6, they have some nice discounts going on

Saw that as I ordered my stock from them but they don't have the reticle I want unfortunately. Only have the plex. Will probably try to pick one up on this site.

Take a look at March. Great glass, simple but useful reticles. Avail F1 or F2. Huge mag range (2.5 - 25X), illuminated and around 24 oz if memory serves correctly. I find their turrets (feel, accuracy, return to zero) to be excellent. Relatively short package as well. Only cons that I find is the parallex is rather sensitive, and these are not budget friendly scopes. Quality is at least as good as my NXS, which is my only direct comparison.

Check out ALTUS Rifles, previously called CORE SOLUTIONS. I bought this from them. I would suggest my barreld action and Trigger, put in the lighter Carbon stock. Mine is a Manners EH-1 but has the KMW adj cheek piece (adds weight). The rifle was just built, I went for it even though it was a bit heavier with the KM W. I didnt have to wait 8-11 months.

Lone Peak Titanium action, Proof Research 20" 6.5 Creedmoor, waiting on my suppressor.

I use Swarovski and the Nightforce SHV because of weight (light) This being said, I LOVE the new Zeiss V4 and V6. You cant go wrong !!!!!

As Brent M stated. You might consider the Leupold VX6 3-18X 44mm w illuminated reticle. It has 30mm tube, zero stop turrets, high quality glass, lifetime warranty AND less than 20 oz. Very happy with mine

Leupold vx 6 3-18x50 is 21 ounces. Worth the consideration IMHO. I have 1 on a new build I just finished. So far I am very happy with the scope.
