Ok, so I found a great deal from another member here on an mpi lightweight/ultralightweight -- not really sure which one it is as the weight on my scale shows 16.8 oz for the blank so it could be either.

I love a challenge, and love to learn--- if I inlet, install pillars, bed, finish it myself I need more info on its construction. Does it have wood inserts for f/r studs? Or do I need to epoxy in qd's? Can I trim the lop? I'm assuming I can, how much can I trim it, is there a limit? Is it fiberglass or carbonfiber/kevlar? How do i finish the barrel channel after I contour the open/raw foam for the barrel? Fiberglass cloth/resin then bed if I want?

Is mpi back open for business? Are they responding to calls/emails? Are they "finishing" blanks sent in from customers?

Lots of questions, I know. I've done Inletting in wood, and bedding on wood and poly stocks before, but this is more of a project than I've done before-- I'm in no hurry though

Yes they are open. I stopped in and seen some of there stocks. Very impressed with the weight and styles they are offering. Call them they should be very helpful.
