I normally make up my mind pretty quick but, I'm having all kinds of second doubts on which twist to try and get. Going by the Berger Twist Calculator it appears that the 1.725, 1.750, and the 1.8 will all stabilize the 131 gr very well from 200' to 6,000' of elevation at 3100-3200fps. I guess.

I went with a 1-7.5twist
I ordered and received a 5 pack of the bullets...They are wicked looking. Reminded of the first time I saw the Berger 105 Hybrid. It appears the tip has already been tipped into a small, small opening.

If there is to be a heavier polymer tipped hunting bullet next year, that may require a little more twist. 7.5 may be a safer bet.
I wasn't implying the hunting bullet will be heavier.

Didn't mean that you did. I spoke with the Blackjack folks this summer and they told me that. I believe they said 137gr. and poly tipped.

It is likely that by adding the poly tip it will offset the extra wieght, as the poly tip is somewhat taken out of the OAL of the bullet calculation for stability. The actual bullet (minus tip) may even be shorter than the current 131, depending on how long the poly tip will be. I guess we will see.
Well, I got ahold of the Krieger folks. It will be 4-6 months wait on the barrel! Not that I'm anything special but, I have never had to wait that long on a barrel before. Guess I'll go ahead and order Monday. Have tried to reach the Blackjack folks and see what their wait times are on the barrels they sell. No attempt to contact on their part at all.

That's how I stay in contact with the owners. They usually get back to me within 10 minutes and no longer than a hr. I've chatted with them many of times. They might have a few barrels in stock too. It's worth making a account just to talk to them.

I don't know anything about how the barrel business works. But everyone I've checked with are 3 to 4 months wait on custom barrels. Should be a very profitable business once the machinery is paid off.
Bartlein quoted me a 4-6 month wait.
