I am sitting here playing at the reloading bench. I've got a box of 181 gr. hammer hunters open. I am absolutely astounded at the precision and consistency of these things. Every single one is exactly the same weight and length and every one seats to the same exact depth every single time.
I am just dumbfounded and very happy.

I've purchased several boxes in two calibers. I test a sample of 10 from each box. For each sample, I've found the standard deviation in weight to be less than 0.1 grain (as low as 0.03 grain), SD in overall length of 0.001 inches, and SD in base-to-ogive length of 0.001 inches. Very pleased with them.

Glad to see these comments as I just received bullets in 3 different calibers to start load development in 280ai, 264 wm, and 25-06.
What powder do you plan to run in the 280ai? I'm using 4831sc with the 143 hammer hunter and getting 3120fps. Finally found some RL16 to see if I can get a little more speed

I've been using MRP with 168 & 140 VLDs and H4831sc with 145 LRXs......168s are good at 2995 with sub .25" groups but haven't been able to get speed/accuracy combo with 140/145s. Gonna try 131 Hammer Hunters.....not sure what powders I'm gonna try yet! I'm in the middle of my hunting season and haven't had much time to do anything else. I'm open to suggestions at this point.

PS: I'm thinking about RL26.....I'm using it in a couple other rifles with great results and have read others using it in 280ai

We used rl16 in our 27" barrel with wlrm primers and the 143g Hammer Hunter at a vel of 3213 fps. Load finished at 56g. Of course start lower and work up.
