I haven't seen any reports of game taken with the new Federal Edge bullet. I shot a mature, fat, dry cow in Montana a couple of weeks ago with the Federal factory load. I shot the elk at 570 yds with my M70 .300 WSM. I sighted in for a 200 yard zero at 100, grouping 1/2 moa. Not having time or space to shoot at longer ranges, I entered all the pertinent data in the Strelok Pro. With my hunting partner ranging, I adjusted the elevation from the Strelok data, took the shot and hit the elk where I was aiming. The elk dropped in its tracks. The bullet entered through the ribs, destroying both lungs and top of the heart, leaving a half dollar size exit hole. I was extremely impressed with the accuracy and performance of this cartridge. This was the first factory load I have used in 40+ years. I don't know if I can improve on it, but I'm going to try............if I can ever get some bullets!! In any event, this is going to be my future load of choice.

:)Thanks for the report, I think its an awesome bullet design. I picked up a few boxes of the same load as a factory choice for elk and have not been able to get back out west yet. I ran a few thru at the range and recovered this one, range was 100yds vel was 2860 and the medium was 8-10 in wet log and then dirt. I did not weigh it but you can see most of it is there. I was sold. Gotta love bonded bullets!

A lot of guys will post pictures of the entrance/exit wound and cavity when doing bullet reviews. And sure, any elk is a trophy in my eyes.

I have a few boxes of them as well. But so far I've only been able to connect with targets. FWIW they shoot less then 1/2" in my Proof barreled Win m70.

Just kidding! I have been proud of every elk I have ever shot. I didn't take any pictures. I wish I had, it would have shown a fine example of ideal bullet performance.Jack
