Store gift card for new long range rifle

Hi there was wondering if y'all could tell me any experiences y'all have had with a few rifles. The store I bought my current rifle from is going to return it and give me a credit towards something else. I'm semi brand limited but I'm currently considering an xbolt pro or Hell's Canyon Long Range or a sako finnlight in 300wm. Also would be interested if anyone has handles a Bergara premier mountain. Budget is $2000. This rifle will be topped with a Vx6hd 4-24. Thanks in advance!

I believe the Sako Finnlight will have a slower twist than what you'd normally find. That could *potentially* limit you on bullet weight.
All of the above choices would be great rifles, and would boil down to what fits you the best, and what type of hunting you actually see yourself doing the majority of the time.

I was semi worried bout that, I'll most likely be throwing either 180-190 which I believe will stabilize fine at my elevation of 3500ft? Wish it was threaded for a brake also.

It's heavier than I really would like but I also just found the cooper stainless laminate which looks promising.

Most of my hunting is in the open flats of Montana. 100-600yds shot but would like a rifle capable of stretching farther.

I have a bergara hmr that will shoot lights out. Bought my son a tikka and it will do the same. I would buy either one of those again.

Why would you shoot a 180 in a 300 instead of a 7? The 7 will do everything the 300 will do with the same bullet weights but the 7 will have higher bc. Are the rifles you listed the only options?

I agree, if your going to shoot a bullet in the 180 gr range then go with a 7mm. If going with a 300 WM then go with a bullet that is at least 200+ gr to take advantage of the high BCs (this is of course assuming you want a LR setup). Out of the guns you listed the Hells Canyon LR would be my pick, they have a fast twist rate to take advantage of those heavies and are shooters in my experience. I'd also consider Christensen Arms and Fierce (among others) in your budget if they are an option.

No these aren't my only options just the one that my store handles regularly. I'm open to other suggestions just has to be something they handle. For mostly deer and some elk 180s seem like a good compromise between speed and weight.

Do you know if the mag box on xbolts are long enough to support feeding the heavier stuff? Seemed like I'd seen somewhere the max boxes are pretty tight on them

If you want to shoot 180s I would go 7. If you want a 300 I would shoot 215s. I would take a Christensen over a Browning. I would take a Fierce over both. I have no experience with the higher end Brownings but have plenty with CA and Fierce.

Ok I've decided on a cooper timberline. 300wm or 300ultra? Currently have brass dies for 300ultra but it would be too tough to switch
