I'm tooling up to start serious load development on a new 308.
Anyone tried starline brass?

I'm interested in this also. I got some Petersons for a 6cm and its seems to be good quality. I would think the the 308 would be the same. It would he nice to know how well the starline holds up.

I just picked up 100 in 7-08, but haven't started messing with them yet. They look pretty good, (clean flash holes, not beat up, etc.)

Will be following along.

I use Starline (lrp) in 2 of my 6.5 Creedmoors. Very uniform in weight & volume. Brass is "heavier" than Hornady & Federal with less case volume. After 5 loadings so far primer pockets still snug.
Biggest problem is the pockets are too deep for my uniformer to reach bottom. The uniformer just barely touches some of them

I'm going to order some... Sounds like they're worth a try.
Admittedly I was bit by the Lapua bug, but really haven't seen much difference in accuracy. I'm kinda over the 1.00$ a piece brass, this 308 is my 11 rifle I reload for, and most of them are using Lapua and Norma. I figure, if I go with cheaper brass, I might be able to try some of the top tier long range bullets like Cutting Edge and Warner flat lines.
Lapua and Norma are proud of their brass, but is it really that expensive to make theirs compared to others? I don't think so...

Agree with this although I'm running the SRP. Very similar in weight and capacity to Lapua which I couldn't find when I built my 6.5 creed hunting rifle. Going to switch my target creed to it after the last 30 lapua cases are used. I use a K&N uniformer and it seems to gets the pockets clean.

I've tried 10mm, 41Mag, 44Mag, 45-70, and 458 SOCOM. So I can't say anything about precision performance (typically get Lapua for those guns) but I have been pleased with the appearance and consistency of the brass.
I've shot VERY nice groups with Winchester .223 brass and their quality is now abysmal...so I expect the Starline will do perfectly fine.

I have some Lapua Palma brass that I may let you have for a reasonable price. I dont need it, I am buried in LC12LR brass, well in excess of any reasonable need and it is working fine for me. So the palma brass has just been sitting. I believe they have small primer pockets (small rifle instead of large rifle, will apparently stand up to higher pressure or give better ignition) ?????

Hey thanks, I might hit you up on that brass. I haven't been totally sold on keeping it 308 yet. That's why I'm not wanting to spend money on high end brass. But it shoots to good to tear apart. I'll pm you next week.

I'm up to 6 loadings with the large primer variety. Pockets are tight after warm loadings. I got 14 loadings out of my last batch of Norma brass. Starline seems good quality and the price is right.

I've used Starline pistol brass for many years, and currently have their 7mm-08, SRP 6.8 SPC, and SRP 6mm Creedmoor brass that I neck down for my 22 Creedmoor.
The 6.8 brass is the best of any cases that I've loaded when it comes to primer pockets staying tight.
I haven't reloaded the other's enough to know their longevity, but I have never had any bad brass from Starline.
