I have a Remington 700 BDL LSS 7mm Rem Mag. I have it in a McMillan hunters edge stock and installed a Timney 512 trigger. Before the stock and trigger the gun was 2 moa, it is now around 1.5 moa with an occasional flier. I am not happy with this and I am considering having the gun rebarreled, brake installed, action trued, bedded and coated. This will run me right around $1500 from my preffered builder with a 1/2 moa. Or I could purchase something along the lines of a Christensen Ridgeline/mesa for around the same price with a 1 moa. What do you guys think?

Personally I would put the original stock and trigger back on the rifle and sell it for a few hundred bucks. Now you have anywhere from $2000 to $2500 depending on how much you get for the rifle with a good stock and trigger. Buy a Bighorn TL3 action, a TL3 prefit Barrel from Keystone Accuracy, an action wrench and barrel vice. For roughly $1700 bucks you can have a tack driving barreled action to put your trigger on and drop in the stock.

What would be the advantage of the bighorn TL3 over the trued Remington?

I had a Remington 700 Sendero rebarreled a couple of years ago that I wasn't happy with. I used my stock and my Timney trigger. I went with a Brux barrel in the same contour, had the action trued, added a break, and a new knob. I could have saved a few dollars by leaving off the new knob and break, but it's exactly what I wanted and didn't go over my budget. A custom action would be nice, but for my purposes, I don't think I would see any accuracy increase that it might offer.

You could also do a barreled action from Alamo Precision and have them leave off the trigger so you could reuse your stock and trigger. Would probably run you about the same as rebarelling your existing rifle and give you a full custom rifle and a stock 7 Mag. You can also take your pick from any number of great calibers to chamber in whether you rebarrel or do a custom unless you're 100% sold on 7 RM

My 6.5 CM from them shoots mid .3's with factory ammo and I'm just starting to work up some loads and the first time out I had 3 loads in the .2's.

Thanks I will check them out.
