What is max COAL the magazine will allow in the long and short actions ??
Long action will feed up to 3.60" possibly a hair longer, not sure about shirt but mine will feed my 6.5 Creed loaded to ".010 off the lands no problem.

Was considering 300 win mag with 215 berger's has anyone tried this combo in one of these rifles at mag length? Curious what kind of velocity is possible. I wish they would add 30 nosler to available cartridges

As I said in another post I recently "got schooled" when I went to Sportsman's Warehouse and compared the actions and triggers of a a few SAKO 85 and a Browning X-Bolts.
The X-Bolts were smoother and the triggers were as good as the SAKOs!
Plus the X-Bolt had a lug at 6 o'clock to pick up cartridges better where the SAKO 85 had the lug at 12 o'clock, giving up that advantage. Go figure. All other 3 lug bolts I've seen had 6 o'clock lugs.
So I vote for the X-Bolt, less money on average by about $800. And Browning accuracy, by most reports, is as good as SAKO. I could easily go for a 6.5 CM in a Hell's Canyon rifle. And I'd sell my very accurate 6.5 CM Ruger Amer. predator to get it.

True 26" tube. I just picked up one myself with the McMillian stock. It shoots well along with being enjoyable to shoot. I have the X-Bolt Pro as well and really like it. Waiting for a X-Bolt Pro in Long Range to come up for sale to add to the safe.

I like the robust magazine. Have a few Tikkas, great accurate rifles, but the Browning seems to fit better. Caliber is 6.5mm CM. 139 Lapua Scenars for wolves, and coyotes this season.

OK,OK, OK! (As Joe Pesche sez) I made a mistake and said Howa made Brownings. It was a "senior moment" and I knew better, like when your say "Turn left" and you really want them to "turn right".
Anyway I do lust after an X-Bolt in 6.5 Creedmoor BUT I see they now have a 1:7" twist. That's just too fast for say 129 gr. 6.5 CM bullets and a bit fast for 140 gr. match bullets. Better for 150 gr. and up.
Why Browning did this is beyond me. I could accept 1:7.5" twist but not any faster. So I may look for a pre-2018 6.5 CM X-Bolt with a 1:8" twist.
Plus I'd like to see them with 5R rifling.
...and an Unobtanium action.
My search goes on but meanwhile I'll use my very accurate 6.5 CM Ruger Amer. Predator with Timney trigger and Boyd's Classic laminated stock.

Maybe find a used one and have a smith put a premium barrel on it. Might work

Just a question here, I have a Stainless Stalker in 7mag. If sent back to Browning what do you think the chances and cost would be for a new 8 twist barrel? A phone call or email might be in order.
Good question. I have the same rifle. Could use a new barrel too. Great action. It's a backup/loader rifle now. Thought the best bang for the buck would be to have a smith rebarrel it. Hadn't thought of having Browning do it.....

Man, I wish I had an answer, but I think the only folks that could answer that would be Browning...
Also, if they offer to, just to let you know, one of their X-Bolt Pro rifles now comes with a hand-lapped factory barrel... Might be worth asking about.
