in a 6mm creedmoor why would you use a short or large primer. I will be using either 100 or 103 grn bullets for deer at no farther than 500 yards hopefully out of a 26 inch barrel

I think the option is based on the benchrest shooters choice of 6ppc design. It uses a small rifle primer and small flash hole. This is believed to offer slightly better precision. If you're going to use it for hunting I would recommend going with the Large Rifle primer for reliability.
