Heck..i will take a shot at this....
Going with 52.8....little horizontal and good vertical...
A little seating adjustment and you might have a miracle shooter...

Hey there
Wow just what I was thinking! I must be on the right track with this.
52gns is max load for the adi 2209, but I have worked up over by .8 of a grain with no pressure signs at all.
Do you think the speed at 2780 fps will be ok for the 270 out to 500 yards?

Cheers for your help om this

Also I am going to try a test with adi 2213sc equivalent to H4831, as it will fill the case better.
Will let you know how it goes.
Cheers

I like what I see in groups 9 and 10 and agree that the 52.8 gr load would be the one to investigate further.

You'll need to run that bullet at that velocity through a ballistic program like JBM online to get an idea of the velocity and energy at 500 yds.

How much velocity and energy do you like to have for Thar?

Yes. At 4000 Ft. elevation and 500 yards, that load at 2780 FPS, probably will be running a little over 2000 FPS and have 1350 Ft-Lbs of energy left.

A lot of factory 270 ammo runs about 2830 FPS. So, you are only about 50 FPS short of that. That's not a bad thing.

Hey Thanks for your advice on this one.
I need a minimum of 1200 ft/lb at 500 yards.
Might load a few more in 0.2 increments and see how it goes over 52.8.
cheers

Hi there thanks for your reply.
a min of 1200 ft/lb for thar is what I usually work on.
I will load a few past 52.8 in 0.2 increments and see what it does.

Cheers
