Kestrel 5700 Elite DSF

Hi Doc,
Quick question - I finally retired my Horus unit and picked up a Ketrel 5700 Elite - when I setup my Drop Scale Factor - the recommended distance is way out there ~2500 yards) Since I always shoot in the mountains I always have incline angles to enter. Does the DSF calibration required flat land or can I enter an incline angle and calibrate at say a 10deg incline.

Thanks

Jay
Hey Jay, Does your Horus need a new home?

Is the windage zero offset backward in AB Mobile?

If the impact is right of point of aim I am suppose to put that as a positive number correct?

This doesn't work, I have to input a negative number for a right of POA impact otherwise it tells me to dial right. Am I confused?

The above is with a positive 3.0 in the offset, it shows negative.

Doc my AB Analytics is correct as shown there but in AB Mobile it is backwards from that image. BTW I posted in the wrong section I think, I have Android.

If I input according to that image(and the directions) the solver tells me to dial right for a right offset, it should tell me to dial left.

The drift shows on the table as negative drift, it should be positive if the impacts are to the right.

I have a kilo 2400 abs range finder. Is the muzzle velocity temp table the best way to enter temp sensitivity of powder? When you sync your gun profile does this info get saved and solved for when not connected to your phone?

Is the solver smart enough to determine bc when custom drag is selected based on twist rate? For example how hornady lists different bc for different twist.

The solver is smart enough to understand it, and can push out an SG for you. However, at this time, we do not alter the BC or CDMs. In part because some users have trued their solutions or have to use SSF for scopes that are not perfect. We do not want to influence any calibrations they have performed by altering the data on them. But you will find the SG output on many of the tools, and some even tell you the corrected BC but do not adjust it for you.

Any idea when AB will update the reticle library? The selection is very limited for android mobile app. You would think there would be more Vortex reticles than March.

We are currently working on the WebSync system to provide a cross platform experience. It will probably be a while before we re-visit adding in more reticles.
