Here is my first bear, I shot it in Idaho with my 28 Nosler shooting 175 Accubond Long Range bullets..at about 50 yards..so much for the long range bullets haha! Anyway I am stoked here it is I was able to recover the bullet when I get around to weighing it I'll post a picture of it.

that's kind of amazing, to recover a bullet like that from that fast of a round, at such short range. would've guessed a pretty easy complete pass through. What did it hit that captured it? Both shoulders?

Those LRAB bullets expand very easily in my tests. I'm actually surprised it held up as well as it did! I've had them come unglued in my 270ss at 3152 mv
(150 gr.)

That ABLR mirrors my recovered bullets from my 264WM, either the 129gr or 142gr look like that.

Congrats on the bear, it has a unique colour to it. I like that ginger tinge.
As we say here in Australia;
Bloody well done mate.

Cheers.
:)

Looks like the bullet lost a ton of weight at that range, it weighed right at 80.0 grains
I'd love to get me a more compact rifle for bear hunting maybe even grizzly since I hunt in island park Idaho but not sure what to get considering I am left handed I'd love a bigger rifle that Would potentially stop a grizzly

Yes the bear was quarting away and through the first shoulder and lodged into the hide on the opposite side, the bear didn't drop in its tracks and went about 20 more yards before falling.

Nice bear! Would you call him cinnamon or somewhere in between?

Also as a fellow lefty with limited non custom options I'm wondering how you like the mrc x3? I've heard mixed reviews on both the rifles and the customer service

So mine I bought new in 2016 so it's a X2 they have pretty good Service. My gun came with the wrong mag box so I could only hold 2, 28 Nosler shells. I called them and asked them and they sent me a shipping label and fixed it and then sent it 2 day shipping back I live in Idaho. As far as the rifle it's amazing after about 5-8 shots to dial her in I ordered a turret to my Leupold scope and then after installing the turret I went and shot it. At the time I was just under 1/2 Moa 3 shots at 100 yards. As far as track record. I've killed 1 cow elk 300ish yards
2 deer one at 575 one shot one kill one at about 300 same situation
2 antelope one 380 yards
1 336 yards all of these were one shot one kills
Then I shot this bear! So to say I am impressed with MRC would be an understatement I love the gun and I would definitely invest in another one, being left handed you don't have much for options but even if I was right handed I would look into one.

Cool thanks for the reply, I'm glad your's is working out for you. I still kick myself for not grabbing up one or a few of those Winchester m70 featherweights when they made them in left hand when I was a kid. I always wanted one. But one of these will be a fine substitute, probably even better
