Got an Accumark that I need to scope. Shoots very well and I want to take advantage of its long range capabilities. Now I do have an SWFA 5-20x50mm scope but it weighs 2 lbs. Not a huge deal breaker but was wondering if any other scopes in that price range (when/if I sell) will do with the same clarity, toughness, and repeatability with less weight and bulk. What model and power?

Thanks.

Not really. The scope has been out for a while. Leupold has the VX6 now but they are more expensive. The scope is discussed a lot on the forums and has a good following. When shooters want something light that can do long range too, it is where a lot end up. I'm a Vortex Sightron guy myself, but if I wanted a light scope, and price, it's where I would go.

I agree with the Leupold VX 5 as well. I'm in the same boat as you, I'm about 97% that's the detection I'm going.

I'm gonna agree with the Vx5hd line. I got a 3-15x56 to replace a 6-24x50 scope. The 15 power is more than enough for my comfortable shooting distance on an animal and I have shot it out to 1200 yards on rocks. The low light and field of view is unbeatable! Turret tracks perfect for me so far.

I would stick with the 5-20×50HD SWFA over a Leupold VX-5 3-15×50 myself. I never had a single issue with tracking or return to zero with my SWFA. I cannot say the same for my Leupolds.

Even cheaper today, 759.99 with coupon code "perfectday". No not my store, I don't know him, all the usual disclaimers.

I'm jumping in on this post,
but thanks for the info! I'm leaning towards the Boone and Crockett radical, I see he doesn't carry that model.

Sightron stac 4-20 weighs 23.8 ounces, price point is a lot lower than the vx5, and sightrons usually track well but
Vx5 are nice scopes and light
