Kraigwy, my brother and I got area 7 also. This will be our first time antelope hunting and we're pretty jacked up. Do you know if there are any hotels close to the area?

Check out the hotels in Newcastle, lots of them and about 15 minutes from the hunt area. Get a BLM or National Grass Lands map of Thunder Basin National Grasslands. On the map find the Airport (just west of town), South of the airport take Dunham to Six Mile Basin Road. There is a wooden sign. Go through the gate (south) and you're there. Tons of antelope, more public land then you could want.
Better yet, our local club has free sight in days the the 29 & 30th of Sept, at our range (which is right in town). I work the range those days. Look me up and I'll point you out just where to go.

Wow thank you. I might just take you up on that. I'll be coming from Tennessee so I'll need all the help I can get. Where is your club located?
Like I said, the club is right in town. Look south and youll see a large yellow water tank on the hill. The range is right under that.
You'll find a 4 way stop, Hwy 16 and 85. Go west on 85, follow the bypass, dont turn right into down town. Youll cross the RR over pass, take the first left, just at the west edge of the over pass. Then take the the first left off that road, follow the road through a ratty trailer park. When you get to the end, take a right at the fence. Follow that dirt road right to the range. On the 30th I might take off early as I want to get to the prarie and set up. I tent camp out there.
Get back with me in Sept and we'll have a better idea when to link up. What ever you do, regardless what area, you want to hunt opening day. After that those goats get spooky and its all about Long Range Hunting after that.
Oh, I lied. I said the range was free, thats not true for people from Tenn. You have to bring me a jar of Muscadine Jelly.

My brother and I drew a buck and doe in unit 26. Neither of us have been there before nor have we hunted Pronghorn. If anyone has any advice or pointers for this area, I'm all ears. I would also like to know if there is a range nearby.
I have some specific questions too, like:
Is it worthwhile to bring a 4 wheeler?
When the road devides a piece of public land, can I just park along the road?
How can I know if a road is accessable to the public or gated?

I drew for area 63. First Antelope hunt, I have no idea as to what I am getting my self into. Right now I am planning a solo hunt and camping out on public land. Now I just need to figure out the area 63 boundaries and go from there.

I will never forget doing a home inspection right next to the range there, found a 9mm bullet embedded in someones roof barely expanded. It was a head scratcher for a while, then I looked over and saw the range. Someone was having too much fun there.

Area 26 is spotty when it comes to public land. if you can I'd recommend getting a Wyoming Chip for your GPS showing land owership, state and private. Or a good map.

Yes Sir, I have Gaia maps, OnXmaps and KMZ overlays for Wyoming. So, if I'm driving along Ross road, and within the boundaries of public land, can I pull off of the road, unload the Honda and use the 2 tracks? assuming they are still within the BLM or otherwise public land.
