Just got back from a brown bear hunt in SE Alaska. My good friend and I went 2/2 with Adams Alaskan Safaris. I got a decent last day 8' square, 24" skull bear, my buddy got a fantastic 9'7" square, 27+" skull. Dale Adams is a great guide to hunt with if you're looking for a brown bear. I used a Savage 110 t-SR in .300 Win Mag loaded with 190gr Barnes LRX bullets. Scope was an Athlon Midas BTR 2.5-15 and Binos were Athlon Ares 10x42. Both performed excellently in the rain/cold/saltwater/general wet environment that is SE Alaska. I'll try to post pics if I'm allowed/can figure it out.

We each saw around 40, though some of them were the same ones. I'd guess between the two of us around 60 different bears including cubs. First 6 days was pretty poor weather, then 3 days of great weather.

How did the bullet preform?
Excellent as far as I can tell. Didn't recover any. Shot it twice. 1st time 100 yards quartering to me, 2nd 140 yards broadside. Both pass through. Off shoulder was destroyed. Lots of blood. Buddy shot his twice with a 416 Rem Mag at 35 yards with 400 gr solid and they also passed through but very little blood.

dale is a awesome guide and person...just curious why your friend was shooting solids on a bear hunt..
